KOEN
3 years - male - canine - catahoula leopard dog x golden retriever - tempest - order of the fang
Personality:
1-2 years
Koen is an audacious, saucy young thing. He has lots of growing up to do, but doesn't seem to interested in getting around to it. He likes to flirt, play, and have fun. Work? Sure, he can get stuff done, but not without some effort from older, more mature others to egg him on. Even then, it's a slight chance he will. Koen would rather traipse around the world, wooing pretty ladies (and occasionally men) only to drop them like a sack of potatoes when the next hot piece of tail comes 'round. It's a risky business, toying with the hearts of others, but everything to this young dog is merely a game.
Unless it's his looks. Koen is near obsessive about hygiene, and just how awesome he looks. If he isn't flirting, whining, or doing something else obnoxious, he's grooming. He avoids any and all physical conflict like the plague. He could get hurt! And getting hurt involves getting scars sometimes! He just can't take that chance.
What scares him more than ruining his beauty? Commitment. Koen is very carefree; is something crops up to disrupt that, he just moves on. But if something, say a litter of pups and an angry ex-lover were to track him down, his life would fall apart. He fears it most of all. Koen knows life isn't everlasting, and while he knows most goals of other males is to spread their genes as far as physically possible, this young dog sees the point of life more to be about enjoying the time you have. There's so much to see out there, and so little time to get to all of it; why sit in one place for so long?
3 years
Koen is still Koen; immature, with an attitude, but his fear of commitment has thoroughly been smothered by his mate Zara. He has made the decision to stay with her and their surviving pups, and settle down into pack life.
Appearance: Overall, Koen looks most like a Golden Retriever. His fur is long and silky, his frame sturdy with only a few touches of femininity. The only real indications to his more hound like breed is his head structure and his tail. His tail is slightly longer and thinner than a Golden's would be, his muzzle slightly longer as well. Yet otherwise from these small traits, his build is almost entirely that of the retriever.
What sets him most noticeably apart from them is his fur. Almost entirely white, Koen is very obviously a double merle. Only small splotches of red merle colouring mark his body, with none reaching past his midsection. His eyes are a light blue, yet the pupils are irregular, having taken a starburst shape, thus giving him a certain sensitivity to light.
History: Koen had a simple childhood, and left his home willingly at the age of a year and a half. He doesn't talk about it, and no one ever asks. What one can tell is that life outside his family was much more difficult than he thought, and while he managed to hold his own, was humbled slightly nonetheless. Yet that was to change once he made it to Hexasol. The journey there was long and hard, but after what felt like months, he had made it. Coming up to the very edge of Western Hexasol, the young dog was taken aback by the sight of the city. He had seen destroyed buildings before; his family grew up around an old village. But this, this was almost horrific. The buildings were bigger than he could ever have imagined, and the more he moved into what would become his new stomping grounds, the more he realized things were going to be very different for him.
Soon after getting into the rhythm of hunting, running, and sleeping, Koen found that Hexasol had a lot more to offer. He began exploring, going a little further each day. His courage grew by slight, very slight increments, as he started to truly get a feel for growing sections of the city. Though he has not dared to go farther than the southern sections yet, Koen has his eye on something a bit more high-class.
