Kirby
4 - female - feline - Rusty-Spotted Cat - loner - n/a
Personality: Kirby developed a quiet, subtle way of living when she discovered that, being much smaller than most other animals in the city, she had a very large disadvantage. She lives behind a shield of submission: creeping through the shadows of the city to avoid interaction and keeping any meetings as short as possible. However, this is only partially due to her self-protection. Kirby is an attractive feline, and she knows it. In her mind, nothing and nobody can stand up to her level of beauty and intelligence, no matter how untrue the statement may be, and she will likely resent any that can prove her otherwise. Spending too long with others puts her at risk of her attitude getting her into trouble, and for most, she is unpleasant to be around. She will, however, put her ego and vanity aside for anybody that puts in the time to get to know her, and while she may not be willing to fight for any but the closest of her friends, she'll provide support in her own way. She craves adoration and compliments, and can feel very lonely and isolated when they aren't provided. She will have a love-hate relationship with most, but could not cause harm to anybody that tolerated her - unless, of course, the gain would be greater than her guilt.
Appearance: Very small: at around 55cm from nose to tail tip. She is dusty-grey in colour, with her breed's characteristic red-brown markings. Her stomach and throat is white, as well as the bases of her paws and slight highlights on her face, which is fine and set with large, pale yellow eyes.
History: Her parents were housed in a small zoo as part of a breeding programme, but escaped when human society collapsed. Ironically, despite spending years in captivity with no success, her parents produced their first litter two years after their escape. Three kittens were born: Kirby, her elder brother, Cooper, and a younger sister, Mira. Their parents settled them in a heavily-populated area, where the friendlier cats would often approach the tiny kittens, praising their dainty size and delicate markings. As they aged, Cooper began to dislike the constant attention, being a timid, withdrawn character, and departed from their colony at a year of age. Mira and Kirby remained with their parents, until a dispute between Kirby and a neighboring cat prompted the colony to request her departure. She did so reluctantly, having little experience of Hexasol beyond the neighbourhood in which she grew up. Her sister attempted to leave with her, but Kirby insisted that she remain in the relative safety of the group's numbers. During her year alone, Kirby made some temporary friends and flirted her way through several love interests, though nothing stuck.
