The Lexis Legacy The participants for each pack has been determined. Whilst the packs have not fully discussed how their participants should battle for each part of the Lexis land, they have decided it would be best for the participants to meet beforehand. The rules are simple: don't kill each other. A fairly difficult task when you have been trained to do so from birth. Nevertheless, the participants gather on the edge of The Lexis Lands to work out strategies between their groups and try and work out their weakest targets.
Coming from The Tempest Pack brings Clegane, also known as "The Hound" by many, a skilled soldier, but now retired from The Bloody Paw. With him comes Valkyrie, the daughter of the late Gravity, and extremely strong in battle.
The Iris Pride brings the two lynxes: Marlee and Kaylee. Despite their similar names and breeds, they are not related. Both have been born and bred in The Pride and know how to fight.
Finally, The Loners arrive with their two participants. First brings Virgil, the snow leopard who leads The Novus Gang, a strong feline with the ability to fight. Second comes Rebel, a grey fox who is perhaps the smallest out of the participants here. However, she has the advantage of stealth and speed.
This thread is open to anyone participating. There is no posting order, however try to keep it logical, folks. The people who would have chosen their participants would have been the leaders of the respective pack (so Ryu and Bear would have chosen Clegane and Valk). For Loners, they simply would have discussed it among themselves until they came to a conclusion.
Remember to have fun and make this thread exciting! You are free to do what you like - even start a fight and go against the rules if you want! This is about forming relationships before the plot begins.

The day was slightly overcast, with patches of blue sky showing through dark clouds. Valkyrie trotted towards the arranged meeting place at the edge of Lexis territory, excited in spite of herself. Whey Ryu and Bear had summoned her, along with Clegane, the elder whose prowess as a feline-hating fighter was almost legendary, she hadn't know what to expect. But when they'd explained that they wanted her and Clegane to be the ones to represent Tempest in a fight over Lexis' former territory, she had felt both flattered and angry.
Flattered that they'd chosen her over so many other more experienced Soldiers, especially when their other choice was Clegane. She didn't agree with some of the Hound's views, but no-one could deny he was an experienced, skilful fighter. The young she-wolf's size and vitality were her main assets; she had found she was quite a natural fighter, too, but she was still young and somewhat inexperienced, having only fought in one proper battle.
She had been angry that the packs - and loners - were fighting over Lexis territory like crows over carrion, but she supposed it was better for Tempest to get it than Iris. That was about the only reason she hadn't refused to go. She didn't like the thought of having to kill loners over this, but she'd gladly rid the world of a few more Iris felines.
Waiting for Clegane to catch up, the huge young she-wolf stopped at the edge of the territory, licking her lips once, her whole body a little tense as she looked around for the representatives from Iris and the loners. Today was supposed to be a chance to get to know the others - her enemies, nominally - and she had no idea of what she should expect. They'd been told not to fight, but if the Iris cats did anything untoward, she'd attack without a second thought. Pushing her paw restlessly into the ground, she stood silently, her uncertainty and nerves about the whole situation well hidden; to one who did not know her well, she simply seemed restless, impatient for this to begin.

He wanted to utter nothing more than a simple 'Hi' to the pack members who would be there. This was supposed to be a chance to interact with your enemies but he didn't see much point in it. The less they knew about him, the better chance he had of surviving and getting at least a piece of Lexis territory. And he saw no point in speaking to someone he would, most likely, have to kill later.
Slowly, Virgil made his way to where the meeting was supposed to be held. The scents marking the borders had nearly faded by now, he couldn't help noticing. The young snow leopard wanted to get back at least one piece of land for his subordinates, who he didn't know well enough to call friends yet. Of course, this was also a chance to keep Tempest and Iris from taking the lands and becoming more of a nuisance.
He stayed a safe distance away from the first two to arrive, a dog and wolf from Tempest. One of them he recognized, and Virgil couldn't help but give the wolf a look of contempt. Memories of him witnessing Lexis cats and dogs being mercilessly slaughtered appeared in his mind once again and he looked away from the two canines in disgust. He stayed alert as he crouched down and wrapped his tail around him. His claws unsheathed and dug into the ground. He tried to contain the anger he felt. He would have to save that for when this event actually started. If he didn't get to her then hopefully someone else would. He would be satisfied if, after this was over, there were less monsters to deal with later.
Virgil silently watched the two canines out of the corner of his eye as he waited for the others to arrive and this event would start.

”Speech.”
This was going to be interesting. Old and retired he might be, but still standing strong and dangerous, and now he was going to fight alongside with Valkyrie to hopefully gain more territory for the Tempest Pack. However, it still had yet to be decided how they should fight - so at this point, only a meet-up between the participants had been put together. The big dog huffed, not understanding why so much talking had to be done between the leaders. Why couldn’t they just be done with it already? Couldn’t be that hard! Politics, he thought bitterly, his mind tainted by venom at the word.
Valkyrie padded along ahead of him. Though she wasn’t running fast, The Hound still felt in his aging body that he was happy the Tempest Pack wasn’t a nomadic pack. Travelling for miles upon miles each day would probably mean he’d have to be left behind before winter struck the hardest. Good thing he was of more use than that! He knew winter would be hard to get through so he had to admit he was happy that he didn’t have to travel like a nomad in such times. Not that he feared winter, though. He knew every life had its end - death was inevitable, therefore a thing which shouldn’t be feared. That would just be a waste of time. It was the way he died that mattered – and it wasn’t a secret that he would much rather die in winter’s cold embrace than by a feline’s razor claws.
”So, where’s the buffet?” he rasped out loud. ”I thought felines would come here voluntarily to be slain! So much for nothing.” He added with a dark grin and looked around before turning to Valkyrie again. ”‘Bet our dear General and Warden, ancestors’ rage come down on them, are laughing their skin off, sending us out here for no reason. They should be saving their precious coats for winter instead, we cannot have them freeze their royal butts off, eh?” He barked a brusque laugh. Neither Valkyrie or the Hound knew much to each other, so why not split the tension with a joke or two before the others arrived to this politic-something-stupid-meeting? ”Puppy games,” he snorted with the hint of a smile on his lips as he sat down.
A snow leopard then appeared, a young and fluffy male. ”Hmph, seems like we’re getting enough to see to,” he mumbled only loud enough for Valkyrie to hear, now speaking in a serious manner. The snow leopard was young, but he was a big feline and not to be underestimated if taunted. Luckily the male was clearly a loner, no scents of Iris radiating from him. Hopefully that meant he was one of those so-called peaceful loners. With only Valkyrie and him, a fight with such a big one could turn out nasty if he should appear full of bloodlust.

Don't kill anyone. Pah! Kaylee could give fuck all about what her so-called-leader had ordered her to do. Both the Amazons and the Iris Pride had no say in what the God of Death ordered her to do, and her first alliance was to him and him alone. She wouldn't disobey the urges sent to her from the depths of hell if it was time for one of these useless shits to die - even if it was her companion, Marlee. Still, Kaylee hoped she wouldn't lay eyes on a "walking corpse," as she liked to refer to them as. She'd gone through the trouble of cleaning her coat to get rid of the stench of carrion and dried blood clinging to her - though, the lingering scent of death still seemed to linger about her frame, especially since she was wearing the bones of her prey and enemies around her neck. Balanced around her broad shoulders, the spine of a dog was present: all for intimidation, really. If it had been up to her, she'd have worn the skull of a longhorn instead - but the other Amazons had suggested this to unnerve her Tempest opponents.
But see, that was only half of the problem. Upon arrival, Kaylee saw an unfamiliar face belonging to a fellow feline. Foreign smell. Definitely not of Iris - and he had precious cargo between his legs - so definitely not an Amazon either. She curled her lip up as welcome to Virgil and Valkyrie, but lingered on Clegane the longest. He was old - experienced and what she assumed would be a formidable opponent, but old. Old... old. You're due to die first, her expression changing into something of an excited smile. Don't worry, puppy, I'll wear your bones with some semblance of respect. Promise. But the only sound she managed to utter was a sick, twisted laugh.
Oh yes, there would be blood.

"Speech"
The young female hadn't been able to sleep the last few nights. She was waiting anxiously for the meeting between the Iris, Tempest, and what was left of Lexis. In her mind, as she walked to where they were to meet, she went over everything her father taught her. What she needed to know about fighting canines. The ones that were sure to show up would most likely be large beasts. They wouldn't be a fast. Speed. Speed was her ally. Speed and agility. She knew Kaylee was probably already there, and though she didn't doubt the other's fighting skills, she could not help but wish it were her father there instead. She could always depend on dad to win almost any fight. Almost. It hurt to remember what had happened to him, and anger filled her. She rarely let emotions control her actions, but this was a special occasion. Anger would help her. Hopefully.
She saw ahead the candidates chosen for this event and paused midstep. Valkyrie, Virgil, she had heard much of Clegane, and of course Kaylee. She stayed hidden in the shadows for a moment, assessing the two canines and Virgil. Watching, observing, before moving forward with her head high and walking with pride. Her pose said she wasn't being cocky, she knew this even could easily kill her, but she was showing that she was unafraid. Whatever happened in the end would happen, and she knew she could not change it. So why bother posing? She went to stand beside Kaylee, sitting and nodding a silent greeting to the others as she waited for the rest to arrive. Her eyes, however, were fixed on the canines, Clegane in particular, as she tried to find any weak points. She knew he was old, but she also knew age was only a number. Clegane would still be a very dangerous opponent. Still, however, she did give away a single hint that she actually sort of feared him. She remembered what he father had always told her. "Fear is weakness. Weakness gets you killed." She snorted with a roll of her eyes at what her father had said on the subject.
