OLIN (pronounced OH-LYN)
three years - dog/male - domestic dog - cocker spaniel (american) - loner - loner
Personality: Despite a face of what once represented a friendly neighborhood pet and the winsome Disney beauty that human demand could never get enough of, if humans were still around, who even knows what dark fate would've been bestowed upon Olin. Thanks to that popularity and high demand, a spike in behavioral problems was all too known in Cockers. The once darling monsters were turning against the hands of their own creators, to be solitary confined in the suburban backyard for nipping at poor little Emily or ripping up the new suede loveseat after being left alone all day. Though he is not particularly harsh-natured or spiteful, Olin's disposition is still a very far cry from what they romanticized so long ago. He is reserved, introverted and a little skittish. But being ntroverted and a little skittish of course means he rarely misses a thing; things as in words, sounds, and patterns some faster paced individuals might easily dismiss.
quirky
Call it a case of maybe too much alone time and introversion, pure physiological malfunction as a result of poor breeding, or just an innate part of who he is, Olin is a bit on the quirky side. To name an example, he is fascinated by the sound of stones dropping on pavement and it's not unlike him to actually get "stuck", repeating the action for hours until something else arouses him. He also has a tic of showing his teeth, even when he may not be trying to show aggression such as a snarl or submission as a smile would suggest. Those that get to know him long term, though, quickly crack this code as his way of showing stronger emotion.
logophile
Growing up with one of his brothers mute and having a mother who only spoke in soft broken undertones, disliking verbal expression herself, it wasn't until he left the nest that Olin discovered the beauty of words. What are some that he's likely to bust out in use? Any obscure color names, as they are his favorites. Xanthic, jacinthe, cramoisy, violaceous, even achromatic to describe a lack of color.
sensitive
Although highly intelligent, Olin is still childlike and the sweet spaniel of yesteryear in the sense that his feelings are very easily influenced as well as hurt. Emotional tension especially bothers him.
