Poe.
two - female - canine - german shepherd - loner - n/a
Personality:
Poe is about as odd as they come. At first glance, she seems pretty normal. She goes about her day just like the average canine, well from what you can see as a bystander. After you sink a little deeper inside of that brain of hers, you will quickly discover that Poe is anything but ordinary.
First off, after watching her for a bit you may start to notice she does a great deal of staring off into space and mumbling. Nobody knows exactly when Poe is going to just stop whatever she is doing, no matter how important it is, and just blankly stare. Well, to you it may seem like blankly staring. Poe, however, is special. She can see things. When Poe goes off into these trances it is because she is having one of her 'episodes'. This is usually when the many characters she has made up in her own mind take over and present themselves to her. Poe clings to these imaginary creatures, and does anything in her power to summon them to her reality. To her, these are her only true friends. She keeps these friends of hers to herself, afraid of the outside worlds disapproval and hurtful jabs.
Another one of Poe's extraordinary qualities is that she can hear the dead, or at least she says. Whenever Poe stumbles over a section of land housing a corpse she can't help but hear the dead creature's voice inside her head and feel it's feelings. Poe has had this ability since she has been a pup and is certain that this isn't just a hidden talent, but a reality. She has heard the stories of several deceased canines and felines. Poe also has a strong fear of death, and sometimes suffers from panic attacks when she is left alone at night to let her mind think about what the after life contains.
With all of that aside, Poe seems pretty normal. She's innocent, pure and brutally honest - aside from telling others about her 'friends'. Poe cares a lot about the creatures around her, and does whatever possible to make everything feel nice and comfortable. She is moderately social, and usually craves the companion of others during the night when she is the most mentally vulnerable. Poe loves puppies and wishes for her own eventually, though in the back of her mind she fears she won't be a good enough mother. Love isn't a department in which Poe is very comfortable in. She has never been in love, so how to handle such feelings are beyond her grasp.
The Friends.
___________________
Kelt - Kelt is Poe's best friend. Kelt is almost constantly with Poe and is with her only during the daytime. Kelt is also scared of Q and 'hides' from it every night around sunset, leaving Poe to face the night alone. Kelt makes Poe feel good about herself and has a nice personality. In Poe's mind she identifies him as a wolf, around her age, who is a lot larger than her and handsome.
Q - It is never good when Q shows up. Q is the friend that scares Poe the most. She cannot identify what Q is or what it wants. Q is genderless and shapeless. Q has a tendency of telling Poe that she is going to die and bring up other things that frighten Poe. Q usually shows up during the nighttime, and keeps Poe from sleeping. Poe becomes frantic and almost insane when Q is inside her head. She becomes a whole different creature, and there is no telling what she may do.
There are more, but Poe makes them up as she goes and they tend to fade. Kelt & Q are the only reoccurring friends.

History:
Poe was born to a very, very displeased mother. Jocelyn, a young female who had just reached adulthood had been brutally tricked and taken advantage of by at the time a complete stranger. This stranger was known as Ebel. Unlike most males, Ebel insisted on sticking around with Jocelyn to see what his offspring would come out like. And therefore, their strange relationship bloomed. Some months later, Poe and one other small pup, Sylvan were born.
Jocelyn didn't want the pups from the start, and did everything in her power to keep them away from her. Ebel had to do everything in his power to force her to sit down and feed them. To the pups, the sun rose and set around Ebel, and the young male was deeply pleased with this. Ebel didn't pay much attention to Jocelyn now that it was time to train the pups, and she didn't mind. However, if he were to pay close attention he would have realized there was a dramatic change in her mental state. While he and his children were out playing Jocelyn would lay in the hot sun and murmur constantly to herself. When Ebel finally asked what was going on with her, she would just ignore him and go on with her ramblings. Ebel had fallen in love with the reluctant, and now crazed Jocelyn and could not bring himself to leave her. Even if he felt it would be better for his children.
A few months later, when both the pups were around seven months old, it happened. It was nighttime, and the whole group was asleep in their small fox den. Something woke young Poe up in the middle of the night, leading her away from her sleeping family and out into the field. These voices kept coaxing her, at first they were nice and friendly. Inviting the young pup to come play with them, but the further she got away from the comforts of home, the darker the voices became. Soon, the voices became one voice and began screaming at her. Poe was frightened beyond belief, but could do nothing but lay there and cry out for Ebel to come save her. He never did. Poor Poe sat in the middle of the field until morning. Finally, gathering her tattered self she returned to her family den.
Outside, waiting for her was a blood soaked Jocelyn. Her white chest and stockings coated in sticky, crimson liquid. Poe, being young and innocent didn't think much about it. Jocelyn had always been odd and uncomfortable to be around. And the blood? Maybe she made a kill. As Poe got closer she noticed the glazed over look in her mother's eyes. The female looked down at her and muttered words Poe would never forget. "You can hear them too." Then, with saliva foaming from her parted jaws, she fell over dead. Poe was hysterical with fear and ran into her den, hoping to find her father there. Instead, she found the strung innards and horribly dismembered carcasses of her brother and beloved father. To this day, Poe cannot erase the terrible image from her mind and frequently has nightmares concerning it.
After finding her whole family dead, Poe sought out multiple 'foster' families. After they discovered the way her mother had died, they usually cast her away in fear the family contained some disease. Poe learned to survive on her own at a young age, and wandered around with her new found 'friends' attaching herself to family after family. Eventually, Poe grew old enough to be on her own constantly and therefore wandered into Hexasol.
