Avalanche's blood raced as the dark building came into view and he slowed his excited run to a steady trot. All the unalike scents that he breathed whispered quiet stories to him. The prospect of adventure was enlivening; there was so much to discover in this abandoned property.
The dark night sky contrasted against his lighter fur and as the stars twinkled, so did his eyes. The life within him surged as he dug feverishly underneath the thick metal fence - the obstacle that stretched itself out with its immense presence, but failed to make his resolve quake like so many others.
Avalanche felt his tail wag and had to force his happy tongue back in his mouth when his chin dragged forwards through the dirt hole he dug. The skin of his back rubbed just a bit at the fences' rough steel, but it tore mostly small strands of fur. He didn't struggle too much to slide underneath it and made his way to the entrance with just as much delight.
The heavy doors of the building had powerful, rusted chains hanging from their equally deteriorated handles. Avalanche had to strain his shoulder as he heaved one of the doors to the left, where he hoped his pushes would ease it open. It did, with a satisfyingly long and low creaking that rumbled within his bones and blazed his curiosity further. What sort of building is this, to require such protection?
The air was dank and held a dangerous bearing to it, as if warning him to turn back. For a moment, the dog worried if what he'd find would trigger his claustrophobia, if the adventure he sought would bring him only a small room with inhaling, ensnaring walls. The mutt shook himself thoroughly to repel the inevitable shudder that wreaked his sturdy frame. His head raised with renewed determination as he trod through the open doors.
If the outside's moonlight was anything to see by, then Avalanche was impressed by the sight before him. He wandered aimlessly into the lobby of the building, staring in awe towards the murals of nonsensical art, the scribbles of cement cracks and the rivets of hanging moss. The distraction was immediate and Avalanche found himself rooted to the spot, completely unaware of anything else but his newest, breathtaking discovery.

"Speech."
Salazar sighed miserably after finding yet another lead that had led him to nowhere and now he was in some old abandoned building that looked like it contained something important, judging by the protection around it. How Salazar ever managed to get himself into these places, amazed the black cat. Deciding he might as well go snoop around, Salazar crawled under the fence and padded into the building. It was dark and damp, but Salazar was still able to see quite alot since the moonlight was able to get through the barred windows, casting strange shadows on the concrete flooring. He hissed angrily when the scent of canine reached his nose and became stronger as he went. Stopping, Salazar peeked his head around the corner to see a snow-white canine sniffing around the deserted building without a care in the world.
' Dumb animals, indeed,' thought Salazar padding quietly into the room and used the shadows as he headed over to a table in the corner. As he snuck around, Salazar took a better look at the dog, judging whether or not it was part of the pack that had attacked his mate, but decided that a member of that pack wouldn't be stupid to be out in the open like this. Still, it didn't mean Salazar couldn't tease the silly little mutt. Hopping onto the table, Salazar lay down and turned his eyes on the canine and opened his mouth to say, " Didn't your parents teach you anything about keeping your guard up. If I was a iris cat, I'd guarantee you'd have been a mince-mutt in a matter of seconds. However, I am not, but I do know an idiot when I see one."

Carys.
The air within the prison was very stale, barely any breeze flew in. Or at least that's how it felt to the young tabby. She felt like though the cement allowed for cool surroundings; the air almost felt like it was suffocating. It didn't bother her that badly though, besides, focusing on one thing really wasn't her specialty. She still didn't remember how she'd gotten in the prison or even when, she just knew she'd woken up in one of the cells that morning. Ever since, she'd been exploring the halls hypnotized by the wonderful art. All the colors, mixed with the sense of darkness, it was so breath taking. As an adult with a childish mind, her opinions were never affected by the bad but only the good. She didn't even acknowledge the smell or the trash that came along with the prison. Only the art, the art that had kept her hypnotized for to her forgetting, had kept her here for three days.
Skipping lightly, she hummed a tune as the images of art filled her view. She was like a kid at a candy shop, unaware of anything but the candy. Her innocent eyes flutter back and forth almost in sync with her long tail; actually almost following the rhythm of her voice. Carys was good at being quiet and light on her feet, but often she could never keep her voice quiet. Soon humming turned into full fledged singing, an unknown melody escaped her lips. "Wasn't it easier in your firefly-catchin' days? When everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you. Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep. Before the monsters caught up to you?..." the whole time, Carys had no idea where she was going. She was just dreaming in her own little world, mostly the idea of her dancing around the art and rolling around in a field full of flowers. So innocent, so childish. Carys had no idea that she was walking straight into a lobby with two strange animals, one being a male cat and the other being a male dog. Both could easily harm her, but again, her childish ways would not make her aware of that.
Twirling her way into the lobby, Carys finally caught a glimpse of the two animals. She stopped dead in her tracks, almost letting her dizziness take her down; she let out a small, "Oops!". Her wide eyes now observing both creatures, she let out a small smile and introduced herself, "Hello, I'm Carys!".

Avalanche was caught off guard by a sudden slick voice. "Didn't your parents teach you anything about keeping your guard up. If I was an Iris cat, I'd guarantee you'd have been a mince-mutt in a matter of seconds. However, I am not, but I do know an idiot when I see one."
The cat casually set itself on a table nearby, and Av eased down the stiff fur that had bristled upon its greeting. How did that cat get in here? I was just at the door, no way I could have missed it. The dog looked over at the art on the walls once more and admitted to himself at having been careless. The cat was right, if it hadn't introduced itself, Avalanche could have easily been attacked, though as he sized up the creature, he did doubt there would be much damage. He found himself smirking and giving credit to the cat's impressive stealth.
"Didn't your parents teach you any manners?" He quipped playfully, giving a friendly grin and excusing the almost-threat in the cat's words. Avalanche thought the cat safe enough to be around, as it gave off an air of 'all bark, no bite' as his father had once said. Av set his tail to a neutral standing, and was about to say something else when his ears twitched and led his head to the right, eyes catching onto a little figure twirling closer. He raised his brow in confusion, and smiled when it showed itself to be a cat. The female introduced herself with a shy smile and Av found his heart warming up to it. "Hey there, Carys, I'm Avalanche. That guy, over there, is... Well, he's not an Iris cat," he said, casting a glance at the aforementioned 'guy' with a clownish look.
He wagged his tail once and looked over the little female. Again, his thoughts went back to the door and his curiosity got the better of him. "If I may ask, cats, how exactly did you two get inside this building?" His smile remained friendly and he relaxed himself enough to sit down; if the cats had any intention to wound him, he was confident enough in his size and their consciences despite their numbers.

"Speech."
Salazar stretched and sat up, not bothering to move from his spot on the small table incase that shepherd felt the need to attack him, even if it didn't matter to the black cat. He felt pretty smug about the whole situation, but didn't show it on his face even if he was tempted. Walking on the table, lifting his tail with an air of being of higher status than the other two, he trained his yellow eyes on the shepherd.
"The name is Salazar, and it's really of no business to you how I managed to get in here. I came in here, same as you if you can manage to comprehend that." replied Salazar irritably. He really had better things to do than sit her and make sure some idiotic pup didn't get killed by a iris member. To be honest, he had no real love of the fights between dogs and cats other than his own revenge on the pack that killed his mate, Pearl.
Turning to other cat, making sure he was ready to move out of the dog's reach if need be, he looked at the other feline, friendly enough...maybe too friendly. Of course, he wasn't the type to hand out any sort of advice, but he couldn't resist toying with the two of them. Besides, he was tired and hot from a long walk in the sun. He was not going anywhere at the moment.
"You need to be a little more wary with who you make friends with. For all you know, that dog could have attacked you and then you'd end up somewhere other than here. Fortunately for you, it seems this mutt here is harmless."
