The sun shone high in the sky as a dark feline made her way through the thick grass in the meadows. Flowers blossomed in an array of colours as she continued her journey back to the caves. She hung her head low, her tail and legs tickled by the grass. Heaving out a sigh, she gazed across the landscape. It would be another hour or two before she got home, and the midday sun was scorching. Feeling thirsty, Nutmeg headed towards one of the small streams that trickled through the meadow. Bending her head, the tortoiseshell cat began to lap at the water, quenching her dry throat. The cool water was blissful, and she briefly soaked her paws in it to sooth the pain from walking all morning. Nutmeg was beyond worried as she turned back to her journey. She had felt movement in her stomach, and that meant only one thing; kittens.
She should have been more careful. Nutmeg clearly remembered the day she had met briefly with the handsome cat, named Brandon. She had thought nothing of it until then. She had merely wanted to forget all her bad memories. And now? She was going to have kittens in a few months time, and she was scared. Nutmeg knew Grizzly had no idea of her brief encounters with other males. Nutmeg had vowed never to tell her best friend of this. As Nutmeg gazed at the distant mountains, a plan formed in her head. Perhaps she could seduce Grizzly, and make him believe that she was carrying his kittens? Void of emotion, Nutmeg continued through the thick grassland, swishing her tail at the new idea. They had been best friends for years. Nutmeg had always wondered whether they would eventually become something more. She assumed Grizzly would have no qualms with this arrangement. Besides, her future kittens needed a father, and Nutmeg knew Brandon wouldn't be coming back.
There was a huge possibility that the kittens would look nothing like Grizzly. Would he assume something was wrong? However, Nutmeg didn't look a single thing like her own parents. Doll had been a bright ginger feline, whilst Pancake had been a petite tabby. She breathed a sigh of relief. No, Grizzly would suspect nothing. And she would keep it a secret until her dying day. Grizzly would be a good, kind father. However... Nutmeg's stomach coiled uneasily. She would not be a decent mother to these kits. They deserved a gentle, loving mother, who had wanted them all along. They were a mistake, and Nutmeg didn't know how she could ever love them when she didn't even love their true father.
Stopping again, Nutmeg let out a small cry of despair. She just had to hope that Grizzly would go along with her cunning plan, and he could be the decent parent for her new kittens.

In the midst of all the bright colored flowers, strolled a large male cat. He walked slowly, taking in the sweet aroma of all the daises and sunflowers. The day so far had had no purpose, there was no need to go hunting and he really didn't even feel like exploring. So basically, he just started walking and eventually he ended up here; in the meadows. He wondered, if this was the reason every one ends up settling down and having a family. To avoid boring days, where all you can do is amuse yourself by chasing crickets or watching flowers sway with the wind. Sighing, he collapsed onto a patch of soil, stretching his whole body out. The cold dirt felt amazing on his stomach, allowing him to deal with the heat of day.
Chills went down his spine as he stretched out all of his claws, he was so tense. After running the pack of dogs away from Nutmeg and her friend, he'd ended up at Kingsmead Park. Grizzly didn't even no exactly when he had lost the dogs, but had continued running. The adrenaline had kicked in and for some reason, he felt no need to stop. Running seemed to help him disappear from his problems, from being deaf. Well, almost. Although, Kingsmead turned out to be rather quaint. He thought it was cute and interesting, unsure of how the humans played on these things.
When exploring the slides, he attempted to leap up one and ended up loosing his footing resulting in sliding down. It was rather embarrassing, but he laughed it off. Shaking the dirt off his pelt, he then slowly walked up the slide except when he got to the top he realized there was someone there. Her tail twitched back and forth out of curiosity. He couldn't look away from her baby blue crystal eyes. Her expression was sweet, yet hypnotizing. Hastily he was forced to move his glance to her mouth as she spoke. "Hello," she said. The maine coon couldn't help but grin."Hello." he replied. Grizzly could still remember her looks, like she was standing right in front of him. Fluffy like him and cloaked in a pearl white while orange surrounded her ears. A spark of orange, as Grizzly liked to think of it.
Sighing, he knew how pitiful he sounded. He had never even caught her name, even though they had talked for hours. As to why he let her leave, he didn't know. Now he just couldn't stop think about her. It couldn't mean anything though, besides he had Nutmeg to accompany. She was just feeling better, he couldn't leave her for some female. Friends came first. Well, that was how he saw it anyways. It was just hard to get the female out of his mind, he almost felt excited to be in love. If it was turning into love that is.
Grizzly used to think he loved Nutmeg, before he reunited with her. He always thought that was why he could never find love. Because his true love was gone. That he had let her slip away. Except now, he wasn't even sure Nutmeg liked him. Or his company. It was almost like they tolerated each other because they didn't want to be alone. Grizzly cared about her though, he really did. He just wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual. Besides, she was upset that he had followed her to check in a couple days ago at the Amusement Park. He hadn't seen her since because when he got back to the cave, she wasn't even there. So he came here.
Closing his eyes, he rolled over onto his back and wiggled around on the cool dirt. A gust of wind blew up against him and he opened his eyes, only to see Nutmeg straight ahead strutting through the flowers and grass. Hoping to his feet, he letting out a meow to her before actually calling her name. "Nutmeg! Over here,"he called, before taking a seat. Swishing his tail back and forth, he waited for her to head over.

A cool breeze made Nutmeg stop mid-step and breathe in the fresh air. She stomach rolled uneasily as she saw the mountains loom in the distance. There, she would find Grizzly and she would have to either tell him the truth, or seduce him like a common whore. The more Nutmeg thought about it, the more it sickened her to the core. She was a rotten apple, just like Cerberus had told her. She was tainted and no amount of water would wash that away. Shivering with dread and anticipation, she almost considered turning away. She could flee Hexasol altogether. Then she would leave all those memories behind. She could seek a new life, perhaps find a new city to fall in love with. Hexasol had never been her home, not really. It was concrete and tarmac, and nothing made her want to stay. Trembling, Nutmeg came to a halt. She was torn. Grizzly would miss her, but, in time, he would realise it was for the best. She held him down. He was an explorer, an adventurer. Nutmeg was a misguided feline who had too many issues to count. She didn't deserve a friend like him.
A loud meow startled Nutmeg, and she turned to see Grizzly rolling in the dirt. Frozen, Nutmeg's paw hovered over the ground, ready to bolt. But it was too late now. She couldn't resist Grizzly, and she regrettably began to move towards him. It's now or never, Nutmeg. A voice in her mind supplied as she finally came close enough to breathe in his warm scent. Relaxing a little, Nutmeg forced a smile on her lips. The last they had seen each other was when Nutmeg had met with the strange feline, Salazar. They had only just escaped with her lives, thanks to that stupid cat. She was glad to see Grizzly was safe and out of harm's way. This was why Nutmeg never ventured to the city. There were canines on every corner, waiting to attack. Although Nutmeg was born to the Lexis Tribe, she was now unsure as to what her beliefs held. Whilst not all canines were bad, she didn't seem to have much luck with findings the good ones.
Nutmeg shook her head, she was digressing. With a pounding heart, she finally came close enough to brush her tail teasingly against Grizzly's fluffy face. A coy smile played on her lips. She felt ill at the thought of hurting Grizzly like this, but she couldn't bear to have kittens without a father, without Grizzly. She was almost certain Grizzly would abandon her if he found out the truth. Nutmeg had once thought Grizzly loved her. Now? She couldn't be so sure. His scent carried something new, something female. Her heart sank a fraction, but Nutmeg continued with her flirting. She kept close to Grizzly, her fur grazing his. Amber eyes locked with green. She had to make this seem natural, no matter how difficult she was finding this.
"I was so worried," Nutmeg breathed nuzzling his shoulder blades, "I am so glad you're okay. It made me realise how much I care for you, Grizzly." Nutmeg had to admit, it wasn't all a lie. She loved Grizzly, but she just didn't know to what extent her love stretched for him. He was a good friend, but to become mates with him? She didn't want to get into such a commitment. Her tongue extended out and brushed his cheek in an affectionate lick, before she fluttered her eyelids. God, how pathetic. She lashed her tail as she waited for his reply.

The fluff of Nutmeg's tail swept against his face, his reaction being all too comfortable. For a moment, he'd forgotten this was Nutmeg. His mind had been on the female but when he met her eyes, it was his friend. It was Nutmeg who was teasingly swiping her tail across his chin. His eyes shone of confusion. This was all too strange and to add to it; Nutmeg was only just beginning. Her rubbed up against his causing gentle chills to run down his spine. Again, this was just too strange. He wondered if he was just over analyzing, maybe he had lied to himself, maybe he did really like Nutmeg. Maybe this innocent play was becoming more only in his mind. But then Nutmeg spoke, ""I was so worried,"... "I am so glad you're okay. It made me realise how much I care for you, Grizzly." all while she continued to rub against him. Affectionately.
Contrary to his earlier thoughts, it seemed as though Nutmeg actually did like him. Although, Grizzly still believed he was reading the signals all wrong. There was no way...Nutmeg didn't like him. Yet, a lick to his cheek made it to seem as though she did. He met her eyes, all of the sudden her gratitude and worry catching up with him. He liked this feeling. It wasn't a normal thing for two females to like him within a short span of a couple days. To him, this was exciting. But he wanted to test this, he wanted to see if he was reading things wrong, so Grizzly nuzzled his head under Nutmeg's chin. "I didn't know you cared, I didn't even think you liked my company anymore. "
Ah, what the heck! He'd get straight to the point since he was testing her. He had always wanted to ask her if she cared, because she never really made it obvious. But Grizzly never before would've asked that, because he feared he wouldn't like the answer. And really, Nutmeg is all he has. His eyes unconsciously scanned her, the way her eyes glimmered with interest and her tail flirtatiously flickered back and forth. Poor boy, he had no idea she was playing him. He was falling right into her trap, she'd chosen a good moment.
He was weak. He was vulnerable. The earlier encounter with a female, had made him feel like maybe he wasn't a failure. Like maybe, a female could actually want him one day. That he could actually have a family one day. For a moment, his ears pinned back against his skull; he wasn't flirting with Nutmeg...he was flirting with the mysterious girl. Except, it was actually Nutmeg. He couldn't sort it out, but he knew there had to be a reason he was being so bold. He was being desperate, and if Nutmeg was flirting with him, he wouldn't be able to question too much. His eyes met hers, she had yet to reply. Maybe, his test was right. Maybe he was reading the signs wrong.
That would be just his luck.

Nutmeg's heart beat erratically as she studied the array of emotions that played across Grizzly's features. Her stomach rolled uneasily as she saw him doubting himself. No, please don't do that. She begged silently as she gazed into his jaded eyes. She felt desperate, she felt like dirt. How did she even deserve to live anymore? Heaving a sigh, Nutmeg decided not to start thinking too far down that road. She had been blessed with kittens, whether she liked it or not. Worry was already beginning to consume her as to whether she could even love them, let alone look after them and be a decent mother. However, Grizzly would. He would love them as his own. He would believe they were his own. Nutmeg just had to convince him she was seducing him. Purring quietly, Nutmeg went against all of her instincts telling her no, and began to circle his large, fluffy body. She had always considered Grizzly handsome, but she'd never thought of a relationship. They were the polar opposites. Yet they had gravitated around each other, like Grizzly was her sun and she was his planet.
Grizzly's voice broke the silence and Nutmeg stopped before him. He looked so confused, and Nutmeg knew she wasn't helping. Keeping up the act, she spoke, "I was hurt and broken. I didn't know what I want. But now I do." Her eyes locked as she winked playfully. Nutmeg inwardly cringed. She was inexperienced in the art of seduction. She was used to lustful males eagerly mounting her as quickly as possible. This was far more difficult. She had to convince Grizzly she was in love. Love. Nutmeg wasn't even sure she believed in the odd concept. She once thought she loved Grizzly, but now it was impossible. Her thoughts and feelings were a mess. Nutmeg could see Grizzly was feeling much the same. He was opening up a raw, vulnerable side to him that Nutmeg wanted to hide away forever. She just couldn't deal with this.
Nevertheless, Nutmeg continued. She brushed up against him, tangling her tail with his. She continued purring, louder this time, and brushing her tongue against his warm fur. "I want you Grizzly. It's always been you." Lies; filthy, disgusting lies. Nutmeg almost gagged at the words that left her lips. Every word she spoke was wrong. Grizzly was her best friend. He'd cared for her when she'd been lost. He'd cherished her like a brother. He'd defended her like a mate. Grizzly didn't deserve this. And yet, Nutmeg wasn't stopping. She was selfish and her kittens needed a true father. Grizzly would never love those kittens if he didn't believe they were his. If Nutmeg wasn't going to love them, Grizzly would.
"Have me, Grizzly. Adore me. I know you've always wished that." She breathed against his pricked ears.

He couldn't focus. All he could do was blink over and over, thinking he must be dreaming. Nutmeg was all over him, the vibration of her purring projecting on to him. His male instincts were kicking in, all he could focus on was the attention she was giving him. He hadn't seen what she had said the first time. As she rubbed up against him, he closed his eyes. No, Grizzly. Maybe Nutmeg had lost her mind, but he really didn't want to believe this. If it wasn't true..if it was a mistake to her...it'd hurt him. He had to control himself. But, as she licked his face, he watched her mouth. "I want you Grizzly. It's always been you." she purred. His heart skipped a beat. All of this confused him, he didn't love Nutmeg like that...did he? Hell, of course he did. It was obvious. And she wanted him. His guard was failing, he was going to believe her. He wanted to believe her, truly he did.
Then she said the thing that ultimately made him fall, lose his guard. "Have me, Grizzly. Adore me. I know you've always wished that." he read from her lips. A dumbfounded expression appeared on his face. What?, he thought. Have her? Adore her? God, he already did adore her. Maybe it was because his heart wanted this so badly, maybe he was exaggerating his feelings for her. But he knew he cared for her. That was something he could say 100%. Did he love her? Sort of...as a friend of course. As more? He could. His eyes met hers, and she seemed truthful. Those big bright green eyes... He couldn't focus, he'd lost focus.
Grizzly believed her.
Trying to speak, he choked a bit. After an embarrassing cough, he finally worked up to speaking. "Nutmeg, um, by have you... Um, Nutmeg, are you sure?" he whispered. This was so embarrassing, he was making a fool of himself. He was so lost, so unsure of it all. But as he looked at her and felt her purring, he just fell further and further into her plan.
Well, maybe him always being there for her had made her realize ho devoted he was. Maybe the thought of him not coming back had scared her. Nutmeg said she had been worried. That it made her realize how much she cared, she'd said that too.
Grizzly knew what she was referring to, and he knew that the next time she confirmed it was okay. That she wanted him, he wouldn't be able to deny anything anymore. Man, it was so easy to make him so vulnerable.
