Wounds in the pack were still fresh -- it had been only a few days since the large battle between them and Lexis... lives had been lost, but many others were saved during the fray. He was glad for it -- he was glad for the black wolf that had come to help them out from before... Lee, wasn't it? Harley had seen him slinking around on the borders and even within them before; he had no real ties to the pack, yet he helped them out during the battle. That was enough for Harley to offer him his gratitude. Even if he was a little... eccentric, he was still valuable. Most of the members of the pack didn't seem to enjoy his company too much, though. He couldn't really understand why. The only thing Lee was doing was be a little annoying, that never really hurt anyone.
He sat at the border with his tail curled around his paws. He was still bruised and a few wounds were still scabbing over, but considering the damage others had taken, he was in fairly good shape. He sat and tilted his head to the side, his golden eyes fixed on the border and its outskirts. Surely the black wolf would be approaching at some point... the runty little thing wouldn't take too long to be here. Soon, the black shadow was in sight, and Harley offered him a lopsided grin instead of the stern glare usually reserved for trespassers. If Brooke didn't care he was around, neither did Har. "Oy, there y'are, kid. C'mere a minute."

Lee wasn't sure why he was bothering to show his face around Tempest boarders after that battle. He didn't belong here, he knew. He fought a fight that wasn't his, and he truly never wanted to step foot into another battle anytime soon, let alone one that involved Tempest and Iris. But something always drew him back to the pack. A heavy ache in his heart. Loneliness. Whining ever so lightly as he paced along the scent lines separating Tempest from the Freelands, he cursed his sorry existence. He had almost no one he could call a friend, and with Autumn walking in and out on him like he was a revolving door, he couldn't help but feel like he just really had no place in this city. Maybe even this world. He was so young still, but he felt like his life was all but over. He had contemplated leaving Hexasol of course. Many a night he'd stay up thinking about if there was something better for him beyond the mountains. But... what if Autumn did come back? Then the coyote would be alone. They were family - a strange one, but family nonetheless. And Lee would never forgive himself if they missed each other again. They were all each other had, after all.
He had turned his back to Tempest by the time Harley called out to him. Blinking, he looked over his shoulder, tilting his head at the German Shepherd. He looked familiar... That's the guy you fought with! He realized. Lee wasn't in the mood to get chased around by angry dogs today. Sometimes it was fun, but today he just wasn't feeling it. Still, the Shepherd had asked him to come near and he didn't seem to be hostile. "You were looking for me?" he asked, turning to face the other male. At first, he didn't approach, but after only a few extra moments of hesitation, he bounded forward with his usual lopsided grin on his face. "What do you want? A booty call?"

The kid seemed strangely hesitant about coming forward. Harley was unsure of whether or not the black wolf was halting because of danger elsewhere or if the danger was seen in him, but he tried to relax his posture to show he meant him no harm. Why would he? He had helped save his ass a few times during that fight. Who knows what kind of shape Har would have been left in if this loner hadn't come in to help out...
Well, the relaxation seemed to help. Without much of a seemingly second thought, the wolf bounded forward, a stupid grin fixed on his face. Harley grinned at him before letting out a scoff at his words. "You wish. I'm probably old enough to be your dad, runt," he quipped back before shaking out his fur a little. "I did want to thank you though. Yanno, for before." Sighing, the German Shepherd's eyes looked past the melanistic wolf and out to the horizon. "I dunno how long I would've lasted out there without you coming around to help me out. I think that alone warrants some thanks." It didn't hurt his pride too much to say so, either... but then again, Harley didn't know Lee very well. Soon he would surely be reminded day after day about what had happened and how much he owed him.
But for now, it was a simple gesture of thanks. "Y'know, Brooke doesn't mind you much... so if I ever see you around, don't expect me to come chasin' after you for whatever reason. From where I stand, you're welcome around here whenever I'm on duty."

Lee scoffed at the shepherd's words, flicking his tail in irritation. Talk about an instant turn off. Personally, Lee didn't care much about age. He'd happily have fun with the male in front of him, but it seemed like he wasn't interested, "Who's a runt? I'm at least your size, asshole. he pointed out. True, Lee was small for a wolf, but he was just about the same size as the German Shepherd standing right in front of him. Lee just hoped he wouldn't compare him in size with Orion, the other black wolf on the premises. Needless to say, the two wolves were nothing short of rivals. He hated that stupid male. If he had a chance to stomp on him one of these days, he would. Despite his size, Lee knew a thing or two about fighting - and it seemed like Harley could attest to it.
"It was nothing," he insisted, a smirk working its way onto his face. "But if you'd like you can call me your lord and savior." Lee flicked his ears, wondering why the dog in front of him seemed so solemn. Seemed like it wasn't just Lee that needed a pick-me-up today. Tilting his head, he gave Harley a skeptical stare, "You didn't look like a coward out there. I'm sure you would've done fine without me. You do realize that no other pack member here would be caught dead saying that they needed my help, right?"
He waltzed around the shepherd when he mentioned that he wasn't going to rat him out to the pack for trespassing. This was awesome. "You sure that's a good idea? You know, there's a reason they call me Enrique 2.0" No one called him that, but, he felt that the title was deserved at this point "Brooke just can't resist my charm. What a cougar."

Harley laughed at that, grinning at him. "Right, Napoleon, sorry about that. I forgot all other wolves were your size." He offered a teasing eyebrow raise and a grin -- at least he wasn't trying to be malicious with his words, or Lee would have had his ass chewed out long ago. The poor guy had enough of that already. Then again, Harley could see why border patrol gets so irritated with him... he wasn't the most humble of canines.
Humble indeed. Har rolled his eyes and let out a huff, but he still smiled at him. There was still no need to be rude to him, it was just a few jokes. He could play the game just as easily. Lee offset his jokes with a serious remark, causing his ears to flicker a little. "The only cowards are those who don't accept help when they really need it, kid." Another smile appeared on his muzzle as he stood up fully. "So perhaps the rest are more cowardly than you realize." Bold words for someone who was a part of the Tempest, but Harley wasn't afraid to speak his mind on it. There were plenty of dogs around that would rather die than admit they needed help from anyone, let alone an outsider. It was dumb, in his opinion.
Harley's eyebrow rose a little in a silent challenge as Lee spoke. "They call you Enrique 2.0? I've not heard that one... an' I'm always around listening to what the others are talking about." Of course, they did bring Lee up in many conversations, but Harley would be the last to mention what they called him during those times. He was sure Lee already was aware of it, but he still didn't want to reveal anything. "I'm pretty sure if you told her that choice in words she'd have your head, yanno." Pausing, he furrowed his brow. "Your name's Lee, innit? I'm Harley."

Lee scowled, his lip curling upwards slightly at the jab at his size. He wasn't small! Okay, not that small. Close enough! Not his fault! He gave a snort of contempt and sat down in the dirt with an indignant thunk, causing a small cloud of dust to rise up from the earth, "Call me small again. See what happens," he challenged. Truly, Lee wouldn't hurt Harley, but he'd give the dog a run for his money - just like he did with all the other Tempest members who crossed his path with ill intention. Then again, Har was only just teasing...
He let himself fall to the right after that, purposefully buckling his front legs so that he hit the ground. It was a little more unpleasant letting himself fall over than he had expected, so he grunted and squirmed around until he was more comfortable, "Glad to see at least one of you isn't a martyr." he murmured. It's nice to actually feel appreciated. His mind piqued in. He had to admit he was a bit warmed by the fact that Harley had gone out of his way to thank him. Lee hadn't done much but be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Sure they call me Enrique 2.0. They also call me sexy," his tail thumped lazily against the ground once at that. God, he was so entertaining to himself sometimes. He'd had plenty of practice cracking his jokes to birds and potential prey while on his own he'd become witty enough to surprise even himself with his egotism. Okay, not really: Lee was just purely stupid at times. "Brooke wouldn't touch me. She owes me," he said, followed by a yawn and a stretch. "She owes my mom and dad for fighting with the pack during a battle that turned the tides of this war in Tempest's favor. And she owes me for keeping her guards on alert all the time. They wouldn't be as good at their job without me around to annoy them, don't you think?" This time, Lee actually laughed, bringing a paw to his snout as if to try and hold back the sound, but failing miserably. "Oh man I crack myself up! Harley huh? Nice to meet you. You know. Officially."
