The holes allowing creatures to slip into the old human prison had never seemed so inviting as they did tonight. The temperature had started dropping with the sun going down, and as the young tom cat looked for shelter, few places seemed to be an adequate location to spend the chilly night. This was one of the nights where he almost wished that he had a pride or pack or something of the sort, that way he wouldn't have to wander about and find a new shelter every time someone bigger or meaner or just better than him wanted his shelter at the time. He'd lost so many shelters and safe places that way.
"Alright Atlas, just a little further." He muttered to himself, fighting his own sleepiness, as he slid through one of the holes, not really paying much attention at that particular moment to his surroundings. He padded down the halls, looking for a cell that seemed at least somewhat warm, maybe even one with a blanket. Finally, he found one, padding inside he leapt tiredly up to the bed, curling up in the blanket and purring slightly as he got warmer under the cloth. It was only a short time until he found himself drifting to sleep.
As Atlas woke, he peered out of the blanket, into the cell, cautiously. He knew he wasn't the meanest creature someone could find in here, and he definitely knew that if someone wanted to, they could have killed him while he slept, if they'd found him. He slowly rose from the blanket and stretched, before laying back down, deciding that just staying here for a short time couldn't hurt.
