LANA
eleven months - female - domestic cat - singapura x korat x american shorthair - loner - none
Personality: Lana acts much older than she really is. It is understandable, really -
she's been through more in her short eleven months than many cats will
in their whole lives. The trauma of her rape and the ensuing pregnancy
has deprived her of a kittenhood. Her social skills have suffered as a
result. Lana is generally a very pessimistic cat. In her mind, very
little in the way of positives occur. Everything bad that can happen
will happen. She always expects the very worse out of other felines.
Dogs are another story. She views canines in a very favorable light. The
few that she has met have been very kindly and generous, hence the vast
differences in opinion. Her opinion of herself is very low. She doesn't
see herself as being worth it; she doesn't deserve kindness or love or
attention. Her view of her body is just as bad.
- Mature
- Feels unworthy
- Believes her body is for reproduction only
- Pessimistic view on life
- Misses her son/daughter, full of regret
- feels more comfortable around dogs than cats
- does not believe in the concept of a god or an afterlife
Appearance: See above picture.
History: Lana is the latest member of a long line of young queens to be made mothers much too early. Her own mother had her when she was just seven months old. Because she died giving birth, Lana was raised by her aunt. Said aunt had a very close romantic relationship with a local tom. He visited her regularly with gifts of prey and choice bedding material. His eyes began to wander, however, as Lana began to mature. She had no idea why her usually friendly aunt had suddenly turned hateful until he cornered and raped her. He told little Lana that it was all her fault. She had made him rape her. She had made her aunt hate her. She was a terrible little girl and, if she ever told, he would do it again and she would get in big trouble. Lana clammed up from then on. Whenever the tom came to visit, she made sure to hide somewhere he could not find her.
Things went on like this until she was two months pregnant. At this point her tummy had rounded out quite a bit, making her condition obvious. Her aunt pitched a massive fit. She assumed that her niece had seducing her poor, stupid sweetheart all this time. She chased Lana far from the borders of her lakeside territory. Lana traveled, doing a very poor job of surviving. She barely managed to find enough food to keep herself alive, let alone any kittens she was supposed to have. A constant lack of proper shelter meant that the heavily pregnant queen was always exposed to the elements. This meant that she kept some sort of debilitating sickness. She collapsed, near death, on Hexasol's borders perhaps two weeks before she was due.
An old dog couple found her. They drug her unconscious body into the shed where they lived. The female placed her in the nest of old blankets where she had nursed all of her puppies, wanting to make her as comfortable as she could. The male and some of their younger puppies went scavenging for food. The family did their best to make Lana comfortable and to nurse her back to health. Though she was in considerably better shape when she went into labor, it was not enough. The tiny queen nearly died. Only one kitten in the litter, a tiny daughter that looked just like her father, was born alive.
Lana stayed with the dogs while she recovered. Her body slowly recuperated from her near death experience. Because of her malnourishment and constant sickness, she was unable to produce milk. Luckily one of the dogs' daughters was nursing at the time and took her on. When she was well enough to move about, the dogs taught her how to hunt and what they knew of the area.
