Annabelle could remember the days when her parents told her whispered stories of the humans, tales of their horribleness and tales of their brilliance. One of the stories that Annabelle couldn't believe was the tale of a place called the "zoo" where humans kept animals locked in cages for their own personal amusement. Annabelle had only heard tales of this place, only heard it through the wind that it existed.
But now that she was here, living the moment, staring up at the giant entrance that was now mostly in shambles, she could believe it. She could see where the humans would move amongst the cages, grabbing greasy food from the stands that were perched all around the area, tossing their scraps on the ground or sometimes in the cage. She could see signs all over the place, signs that this had once been a major attraction and had now fallen into ruin.
As she carefully stepped over a rusted cage door, she stepped into an overgrown habitat. She hunkered herself down in the grass, pretending to be a lioness on the hunt. She rolled her shoulders over and over again, allowing herself a pretend snarl as she crept through the grass. She wondered what poor souls had been forced into this enclosure. She pounced forward on a rock with a loud bark and then batted it aside, her tail wagging.
She was amused with her game, bouncing around the zoo and pretending to be various animals. She paused at different cages and would sometimes get onto her two legs and try to act like an interested human. When she got bored of that, she would act out a crazy animal attack, rolling around in the dirt and laughing at herself when she couldn't breathe from the physical exertion.
She finally found a quiet den (read: abandoned bear cave) and sat down in the entrance. She kept guard, serious look on her face as she pretended to be guarding the Tempest alpha. "None shall pass!" She barked, baring her teeth at an imaginary foe. "You won't get past me, I'll kill you with my smile!" She left forward, once again rolling around in the dirt with herself, entertained with just herself.

"Speech."
A cool breeze rustled his short fur, waking him up from his light slumber. But with the breeze also came the noisy sound of another animal bouncing around in the zoo. He pulled his ears back onto his skull and sneered in an irritated but soundless hiss. What was this madness going on around him? Why did he deserve such an awakening? The day had otherwise been pleasant. A fat dove had earlier been the victim of his razor claws and he’d fed contently on its sweet flesh, resulting in his stomach still being pleasantly full a few hours later.
Tail wagging and barks sounding in the air, it didn’t crave rocket science to tell that this disturber was a dog. Echo sat there, hidden behind the leaves on a tree inside the old bear exhibit, as the Weimanner female ran around the zoo, playing some sort of game Echo couldn’t quite understand. He’d been trapped within the Tempest Pack for three years, one should think he’d come to understand dogs and their peculiar behaviour, but Echo could only conclude that despite what he thought he knew, those silly creatures continued to surprise him. Whether this was good or bad… well, it was hard to tell. His jaws parted in a yawn without sound, the Iris spy shuffling his paws a bit to lay more comfortably on the thick branch several meters above the ground. Since he couldn’t really prevent this dog’s various sounds and gestures, he chose to observe the energetic female, starting to grow amused by her behaviour. Or was it the fact that she didn’t know he was here, observing her every movement in her childish game? He couldn’t tell. Perhaps it was a bit of both.
But then she came closer. He knew she couldn’t see him up here despite her passing almost right past the tree he sat on, but he still winced together on instinct, making himself even smaller than he already was. Eyes dim in the lack of sun behind the leaves shone jade green as he watched the female sit at the cave entrance, continuing her little game. A smile then played on his lips and his eyes lit up to almost emerald despite the unchanged sunlight on them. Why not play along?
”None shall pass, thou say?” he suddenly asked aloud in his playful, almost reciting tune, without revealing himself in his hiding place however. ”How will thee prevent something passing, if ‘ts naught you can see?” A light laughter escaped his lips as a smile appeared on them, but this was nothing his little canine friend could see. It wasn’t cruel, but not friendly either, as it echoed as his name in the sunny atmosphere.
((OOC: Short, and not my best, but here it is! Echo is very weird, I’m still experimenting a bit with him. Yay, putting in some weird oldish Shakespeare English!)
