Melanie
Seven - Female - Feline - Jaguar - no pack yet - no rank yet
Personality: Melanie tends to be a bit on the quiet and contemplative side. She is very inquisitive however and desires to know everything about everything. The curious nature that she possesses has gotten her into more than one scrap in her day. For the most part Melanie likes to keep to her self, she never got the appropriate chance to socialize when she was younger and that independent nature is still with her today. Melanie is however very loyal and does enjoy being in the presence of other cats even if she prefers not to interact much. For the most part Melanie is quite kind and has a bit of a soft spot for kits, of any breed. Having never had any herself they are quite endearing to her. Melanie spends a lot of time exploring and blends into the night very well when comes down to getting a look at new places. In the prime of her age Melanie tends to be a little restless and likes to pace or move around a lot unless she can observe others. The jaguar has a bit of a temper when it comes to canines and her philosophy is often attack first ask questions later, that is what she learned to survive when she was younger. Melanie often remembers her mother growling and mumbling about having to mingle with the other cat breeds, especially the domesticated ones, but the black lady does not posses this part of her mother’s prideful nature.
Appearance: Melanie is a melanistic jaguar with spots visible only on extremely close observation and yellowish eyes. She weighs approximately 160 lbs and looks every bit of it. Long body is graceful and often held low to the ground as she prowls. Muscles ripple beneath short coat and full height when standing or walking at ease is twenty seven inches from shoulder to ground. Melanie possesses a slim head that line up proportionately with her body and large paws to support her weight and assist with jumping and climbing.
History: Melanie was barely born when the virus wiped out the last surviving human. She was born to the chaos of a dying world. It was not long after than when her mother hid her and brother in a more enclosed area in the forest in rain forest in which they lived. It was shortly after this that the world began to develop sides. The dogs were vicious in their attempts to rule the new world and the cats only had one choice, to stand up against them. It was only inherent that the felines fight back. It was in this world of war that Melanie grew up in. Her brother did not survive the primary onslaught, and Melanie was three when her mother was killed. Melanie is a natural fighter and has seen more than her fair share of battles; the war has made her wary but strong. Melanie’s survival of seven years in this post apocalyptic world means that she has her scars, both visible and invisible.
Season born: Spring
RP Sample: (Obviously not a sample with this character, if I must type one up I will, but I really hate typing an RP just as a sample, I prefer to use one that I actually used.)
Jade could not believe her luck, she had been accepted for a teaching position at Elm Ridge Riding School, in her favorite discipline, Cross Country. Today was the day that she was supposed to arrive and she had Relief loaded securely in the trailer and provided with fresh hay and a bag full of oats to occupy him. The sun was still low in the sky showing that daylight had not been present long, but not only was it already quite warm Jade was excited and always up before the sun, that was just how life on the farm had always been ran. One more loving stroke over her gentle horse's withers and she shut the trailer door and told her parents goodbye one more time. They would probably end up having to hire a farm hand now that both Jade and her older sister were mainly gone from the place, but they seemed happy enough with both of them. Jade stepped into the older truck that she loved and pulled away, carefully navigating turns and keeping a close eye on the directions.
The young woman was relatively certain that she had it memorized, but this was only her third time driving out there and she did not want to make any mistakes. Jade's farm was several hours from the school and Jade wanted to get their as early as possible so that she could make living arrangements. In her excitement she had forgotten to discover whether or not the school had a location for teachers or if she would need a nearby apartment, and if the latter was the case get suggestions. Although it was really only a three hour drive it seemed like forever before she turned on the driveway she had been instructed to use when she arrived today, it ended near a stable and Jade wondered if that is where Relief would be living. Turning the dodge off she stepped out of the truck and went to check on Relief. The stallion was fine and contentedly sniffing the new air, ear pricked with curiosity. Now all Jade had to do was locate someone, preferably Headmaster Preston or someone who could direct her in the correct direction. I was hot, but the place was beautiful and Jade was so ready for this.
