Pluton Leader Smiff K!ttenThe Pine Forest was quite possibly one of the most beautiful spots during winter in Hexasol. As Orion sat on the hill looking over the huge expanse of trees, he sighed wistfully. A carcass lay to the left of him, ripped to shreds and staining the snow crimson. It had been a hare large enough to fill Orion's stomach. Licking his bloody chops, Orion considered heading back to his pack. It was midday, but the trek back would take several hours. It was colder in the forest, and there was nothing for Orion to stay for. However, he was content in watching the world go by. His amber eyes gazed up at an eagle flying in the distance. The forest was relatively still; with most of the animals in hibernation, it was mostly predators that smoothly moved through the trees. A scent peaked Orion's interest, and he stood up, sniffing carefully. He had been to the Tempest meeting a few weeks back, and was wishing the winter away. Spring would bring a battle, and Orion thirsted blood. Tingling with excitement, he began to descend down the hillside. His paws waded through the thick snow as he left his lunch behind. It wasn't uncommon to meet another canine in the forest, but this one Orion wanted to find and toy with. He was in the mood of a bit of fun. With winter, came boredom. With bristling fur, he narrowed his eyes as he weaved past the pine trees. He wanted a thrill, a chase. He's been training religiously for the upcoming battle, but this was real, and he wanted to do the best he could. It was a small canine - a jackal or a coyote perhaps. He lowered his muzzle to the ground and breathed in its scent. "Come out, come out, wherever you are," He whispered with a wolfish grin. Some of his pack members would frown upon him if they saw him hunting a defenceless canine. They were kin after all. However, this canine was a loner, Orion could smell that, and that meant he could be a cat-lover. One dog less in Hexasol wouldn't change the balance of cats and dogs. If Orion had caught the scent of a cat, he would be doing the same. Orion chuckled at the thought of his sister. She would be disappointed in him. She would be telling him to grow up. Valk was gone, and she was not the boss of him. Orion was furious with his sister, and if their paths crossed again, she would be begging for mercy. Orion arrived at a small frozen lake, and he gulped. He didn't want to be reminded of when he had fallen through the ice with Victoria and Lee. It hadn't been his best day, and Orion hadn't seen either of them since. He missed Victoria - he thought they had a spark. But the next thing he heard, she'd left Hexasol. Sighing, Orion continued to follow the scent, walking past the lake and reaching a clearing. With his body low, his eyes flickered about, looking for his prey. A coyote. The game is on.

Being this close to Hexasol was... strange, to say the least. He hadn't been there in a while, and just the thought of venturing any closer actually made him feel sick to his stomach. The last time he had actually set foot in the city was during the fight with Iris, and there he had fought a lion. This lion - Florence, of course, out of all of the lions there - had almost killed him and had killed two of his fellow Scavengers. Had Dawn not called him away from the fight, he likely would have died as well. Autumn scowled down at the gleaming ice, cursing himself for letting his thoughts stray to Dawn.
He stared down at the dull reflection of himself in the ice. Last time he had been here, in the pine forest, he met Denim. He was, surprisingly, very nice, and, if he would have kept his heritage a secret, Autumn could see himself actually trusting the large feline. He had tried to ignore the connection between Denim and the lion that had killed his friends, but it was pointless. He shouldn't even be thinking about trusting a feline, anyway, they're all the same. Heartless murderers.
Autumn growled. This place was doing nothing but poking at memories he would rather keep locked away.
He shook his head, lifting it and scanning his eyes over his surroundings. He almost hadn't entered the forest, but his stomach force him onward. He had managed to catch a mouse upon entering the forest, but it didn't help much, if at all. With a silent sigh, Autumn stood. After shaking away the ice that was clinging to the fur on this stomach, he padded away from the frozen lake.
He came across a clearing not far from the lake, and instantly began carefully poking around the brushes and the bases of the trees, hoping to find some sort of food. Even another mouse would be fine at this point. A scent that was obviously not of prey reached his nose, making him stop his search. He froze, sniffing the air carefully. A wolf. For a moment, his heart had kicked up, but it only lasted a moment before he confirmed that is was a stranger, and not his brother.
Keeping his head low and ears back, Autumn slowly turned around. He didn't bother looking for the wolf, just saying, "I know you're there," and hoping his fear didn't show in his voice.

Staggering along the forest, exhausted beyond all measure, was another black wolf. Sleep had eluded Lee for what felt like days, and in all his loneliness, he had resorted to speaking to the birds soaring above him in the mornings. Night time was far more difficult, however, as the only friends he had went home - where they belonged - once the sun began to sink below the mountains. He envied them, those birds. They had families, a place to be. And him? He was alone and unwanted by most everyone in this damn city. Enemies with Iris, enemies with Tempest, and worst of all an enemy of himself. Patches of fur were absent around his paws, which he had gnawed for hours earlier. Anxiety was like an itch he couldn't scratch, keeping him awake, keeping him in his rut. There was nothing to be done but wait for death to take hold of him. After all, what else could he do, when there was not a soul on earth who seemed to give a damn about him?
Admittedly, the thought of fleeing Hexasol crossed his mind, more than once, even. But he couldn't let go of the fact that maybe, someday, Autumn might return to him. All his young life, he had been unable to let go of the grief of losing his family. His father first, who he'd never even got to meet, and then Autumn, and finally his own mother. It was so hard, growing up like he had - if one could even say the wolf grew up at all. Another reason he was alone was his immaturity. He knew it was true. But it was beyond him why anyone in this day and age would want to grow old. Growing old meant leaving behind all the simple joys - the very last joys a guy like Lee could feel - behind. No more playtime, no more pranks, no more just enjoying running about chasing something for the mere fun of it. Responsibility was like a thorn in his pawpads. He would never understand how the leaders of each respective pack coped. Though, he idly remembered, some didn't exactly handle all that pressure well. Stories of the lion Streiter were a good enough example. Who bashed their heads into an airplane anyway? Lee wanted to go out with a little more style than that.
Maybe a little more style than just waiting around for someone to come pick me off, too, his mind piqued. The imagined image of his father came to him in that next instant. What if he died a hero? Would someone care about him then?
He came to the other side of the lake, opposite of Autumn and Orion, staring down at his reflection in the slowly freezing water. He still stopped here nightly in the hopes that he'd find his brother, or Victoria, or someone he could relate to - but each time he left feeling hollow. Sighing, he stared up and gazed out across the lake. A coyote was there, but it didn't register in his head that it was, indeed, the soul he had been searching for.

Orion paused, mid-step. He gazed at the small coyote, who suddenly realised he wasn't alone. The animal turned, however didn't meet Orion's eyes. With a wolfish grin, he appeared out of the undergrowth and barked out a laugh. It was clear the dog was trying to appear brave, but he was no match for Orion. Unbeknownst to the both of them, across the lake was another wolf both of them knew very well. Orion hadn't spotted him as he launched at the coyote. If he had seen Lee at that moment in time, Orion would've reconsidered his actions. Perhaps he wouldn't have attacked the canine at such ferocity. Perhaps he would've been curious of the similar black wolf and crossed the lake to see him. He hadn't seen Lee in a long time, and whilst they hadn't seen eye to eye, Orion had wondered whether they would ever become friends.
However Orion hadn't seen Lee, and he was lunging at the coyote with a snarl ripping through the air. He missed, but only because he had been too far away to jump close enough to the coyote. "I think you should run." He barked at the canine, turning on him and launching again, jaws wide open and paws outstretched. He longed to sink his teeth into the soft, hot skin of the canine. He yearned for blood after so long. His tail lashed frantically as he finally caught sight of something black in the corner of his eyes. Stopping mid-attack, he glanced over the lake at the black wolf. At first Orion didn't recognise him and paid no heed to the wolf. But when he looked again, he realised who it was. Lee.
Gulping, he glanced back at the coyote. Orion had no idea what the relation was between Lee and the coyote, so he decided to go back to his game. Lee could wait. Or join in, if he wanted to. Instead he begun to chase the canine, yapping excitedly as he nearly nipped on his tail. He was enjoying this game. It reminded him of the chasing he used to do with his siblings when they were cubs. However now this was a much more lethal game. He knew the coyote wouldn't survive this game much longer.

Definitely not Lee, Autumn confirmed silently.
He was able to, somehow, stand his ground when the wolf lunged his way. He opened his mouth to give the wolf a sassy response, but was cut off by the wolf flying towards him again. Autumn scrambled backwards, then forwards a little when the wolf pulled out a good chunk of fur from his shoulder. The stung like hell, but he knew what the wolf was aiming for was a lot more painful than a mouthful of fur, so he ran. The last time he had ran like this, was when he and Dawn were running from the battle with Iris.
That thought hit Autumn harder than was expected, making him stumble in his steps as if it had actually hit him. He could feel the wolf pulling at the fur on the end of his tail, so he quickly gathered himself and continued his run.
He couldn't do this, let this wolf win. The two animals that meant the most to him were wolves, there was absolutely no way he was going to die in the jaws of one. One that was the same color as the only living of the two. Why couldn't it have been another color, though, anything but black or white would have been just fine and now is not the time to be letting thoughts wonder like this.
Autumn tried to resist the urge to scream his thoughts as if they were going to be his last words, which they very well could be. He failed horribly. "This is really stupid and unfair!" He scowled at the wind, which was stinging an awful lot against his face. "I bit Florence, for fuck's sake, I should be a Tempest treasure!" He didn't even care that what he was talking about had no relations to his current situation. "It's like I'm being chase by the damn anti-Lee, why is this happening?!" Feeling another nip at his tail, he tucked his tail as far under him as it would go and kept running. He figured that's all he could do, at least until his legs gave out and he met his doom.

He continued to stare at the two quarreling canines across the lake, still unaware that what was going on wasn't just a figment of his imagination. Then, Orion looked up at him, and immediately, the glazed look in his eyes flickered with recognition. Orion. He had never really liked that black wolf. Once, when he was younger, he thought perhaps the two of them could be the best of friends. After all, there were so few melanistic wolves around, and they both had, at one point, had an affiliation to Tempest. He thought, maybe they'd be like brothers. Like he and Autumn had once been.
Things, however, had changed. Ever since the last encounter they had at this very lake, Lee's heart turned to stone at the mere thought of the guy. I should have let him drown under the ice, he thought in that moment, his eyes narrowing dangerously at the other. It wasn't his business, what was going on on the other side of the water, but he felt his paws inch forward ever so slightly, his hackles tightened as if he were ready to spring forward and stop everything before it started. He wasn't eager to get into another quarrel with the fellow wolf, however. Or anyone, really. He'd had just about enough fighting for a lifetime.
But when he began to gave chase to the coyote, something within Lee snapped. That stone heart he carried cracked and shattered and went alight with flames. He knew that voice. That wasn't just any coyote Orion was chasing. Leaping forward, Lee didn't waste time going around the icy waters, crashing through the thin ice and paddling as fast as his legs could carry him towards the other side of the lake. He felt winded, just by the temperature drop, but he pushed forward, paddling despite the numbness creeping up throughout his body.
In no time at all, he was climbing up to shore - but he didn't shake off. Instead, he bounded forward at a sprint to catch up to the other two canines, eyes wild with fury, "You get away from my brother!" he snarled. "I'll kill you!"

Orion spat the coyote's fur out with disgust. He was disgruntled at the fact he hadn't got flesh yet. However the fear in the coyote's eyes was apparent. The small thing scrambled back to try and get away from him, and Orion's heart pounded deep in his ribcage. He was already starting to enjoy this. Chasing after the coyote, Orion leaned forward to nip at his tail. He grinned at the coyote's stumble, unaware of the thoughts going on inside the animal's head. His whining voice only made Orion bark with glee. "Oh c'mon," He shouted, "You can run faster than that, can't you?" He dropped his head to try and nip at his ankles. He was completely unaware of the black wolf across the shore leaping into the water to save his brother. He was so focused on the coyote that he didn't notice Lee until it was too late. He turned his head a fraction, and his eyes widened at the fury burning in his amber eyes. It was only then that he realised he'd made a grave mistake.
The coyote spoke again. Florence. Orion was actually surprised the coyote would have had the guts to bite the infamous Florence. Then he spoke again. Anti-Lee. He knew Lee. He was friends with Lee. Spinning on his heel, the other black wolf was running towards him. Orion swivelled to look at the coyote, then back at Lee. Brother. Wait. Brother? Orion was confused. There was no resemblance between the two canines. Perhaps adopted brother. Brother from another mother. Orion laughed awkwardly, backing away from the furious wolf. Yeah, he was utterly screwed. The rage Lee had was utterly burning. If Orion didn't get away quick, he was almost sure he'd be killed. With the coyote to help, they could easily take Orion down.
"Hey, Lee, I'm sorry mate. It was just a bit of fun. Cat and mouse, eh?" His fur prickled, knowing he shouldn't turn and run. He wasn't a coward, and would never say no to a fight. But he wasn't a fool either. Lee was pissed, and Orion was almost sure he wouldn't back down. He kept his eyes pinned on Lee now, the coyote utterly forgotten.

When he heard the wolf speak, he shivered, thinking 'Well you haven't caught me yet,' to himself and hoping that he didn't actually say it out loud. His paws were starting to numb a little, but it didn't actually feel like he had been running that long. He wasn't sure is it was because of how long he had been running or if was actually just that cold. A quick glance at the lake told him it was the latter. During that glance, he saw a black speck. There couldn't be someone in that water, it was far too cold for that. He heard a splash and Lee's voice suddenly filled the air, making Autumn skid to a stop, but only after the other wolf did.
Autumn stood, frozen, staring at the two wolves. He was stuck in terms of words. He could either greet his brother, or tell him how much of an idiot he was for jumping into that lake. Damn, he could have killed himself jumping in there! Autumn was sure he was at least going to get sick. At least he was here to help his brother through it, though, take care of him until he's better.
Autumn hadn't realized his thoughts had been somewhere else until the other wolf spoke. Autumn let out a ragged breath and lower his ears and head, staring at the stranger with wide eyes. "Cat and mouse? Are you kidding me?! You were trying to kill me!" He wasn't even sure if the wolf was listening at this point. Autumn turned to Lee, who looked ready to tear the other wolf's head off of his shoulders, and his own shoulders slumped. His brother looked awful and it was probably his fault. He shouldn't have left. As much as he wanted to run over and apologize until his throat was sore, he wanted to be out of the way in case a fight broke out.

"Speech."
He didn't take his eyes off Orion, despite the fact that he could feel Autumn's gaze on his shoulders. There was too much rage in Lee's heart at the moment - too much righteous fury built up over years and years of torment by the fellow black wolf and some of the other members of his pack. He paid Orion's words no heed, knowing full well that that whole display had not been a farce, "I think you should run," he mimicked, his voice dripping with malice and dark intent. He took a step forward, his upper lip curled back, revealing pearly white teeth.
Who's cat and who's mouse now, huh? Lee thought, taking another step forward, hackles raised, fur stuck tight to his body from the ice cold waters he'd emerged from. He let out a vicious, deep snarl, eyes as cold as the winter air as he narrowed them on the other wolf. It was as if he was facing a mirror of himself. In many ways, he and Orion were opposites - but today, he'd prove which of them was the better one. He'd prove it to himself, too. Without another moment's hesitation, he sprung, his paws outstretched and jaws gaping wide with killer intent. He wasn't going to let Orion get away Scott free. Hell, with his blood boiling like this, he was content to strike a fatal blow, leave the guy for dead, and move on with his life. Maybe he'd throw the damn wolf back into the depths of that lake where he'd once, ironically, rescued him from.

Orion was processing things far too slowly. He was vaguely aware that the coyote had stopped as well, clearly knowing Lee. He shot the animal a withering look as he begun to squawk about how he was about to kill him. "Details, details." Orion muttered under his breath, before averting his attention back to Lee. He had never seen the wolf so angry before. Granted, he didn't know Lee all that well, but he was sure he had never seen such fury in any animal. Orion took a hesitant step back, wondering whether he should leave. He had obviously chosen the wrong coyote to torment, and now he'd upset a wolf who was similar size and strength to himself.
It took several seconds for Lee's words to sink in. Run. Perhaps the cold was getting to Orion's head. He suddenly saw Lee lurch towards him, and Orion scrambled around and begun to race into the forest. He hissed in pain as Lee's teeth grazed his hind leg, drawing blood. Damn, that was gonna sting later! The sudden pain in his leg meant Orion was struggling to run as fast as he usually good. He just hoped that Lee was weakened by the icy lake, and his stupid 'brother' wasn't also following. He really couldn't be the mouse now, could he? Orion was still trying to process the events that were unwinding. Sure, he'd made a mistake attacking the coyote, but why was Lee so fucking angry? No harm was done.
"Hey!" He shouted over his shoulder, daring a quick glance around. He was surprised at how close behind Lee was. He was almost at his heels! One good pounce would pin Orion to the ground, "Look, I'm sorry! We'll call it quits, eh?" He wasn't expecting an answer. The look in Lee's eyes told him that Lee wasn't gonna give up. Damn damn damn.

"Speech!"
Autumn wasn't sure how the two wolves knew each other, but really, he should have known Lee was going to wonder about, making friends and enemies, rather than sitting around and waiting for his brother to come home. He briefly wondered if Lee was this angry just because the stranger had messed with Autumn, or if they disliked one another before the coyote appeared. His attention went back to the two canines standing before him, noticing the sharp look the strange wolf was shooting his way. Autumn just twitched his ear and lowered his head some more. There was a small chance he was trying to fuel Lee's anger.
Autumn barely suppressed a shiver when Lee mocked the strange wolf, the same words he used after creeping out of the brush. That simple sentence sounded so much more terrifying when being spoken by an angry Lee, rather than a bored, murderous stranger. Autumn, who really needed to stop spacing out on various things, jumped slightly when his brother began moving forward. Despite the wet fur still clinging to his frame, he looked quite large. But, then again, Autumn hadn't seen him in a while, so that could be why. The sound that escaped his throat made Autumn rethink the entire thing. Maybe it wasn't too late to talk Lee out of this. The stranger obviously knows he messed up, maybe they could just go home, catch up, have something to eat, make sure Lee wasn't going to die from leaping into a freezing lake...
Lee sprung, catching the other on the leg, then both of them were gone. Autumn stood in shock for a few moments, unsure of what to do. After seeing Lee's teeth make contact with the other's leg, his shoulder, now sporting a slightly bald patch, began to sting. The coyote didn't think much of it, it didn't hurt enough to distract him, instead he bounced on his paws and took off after the two larger canines. It wasn't like;y he would catch up with them now, but maybe he could stop Lee before he did too much damage. "Lee!" Autumn shouted, drawing out his brothers name until he ran out of breath, then starting over again. "Leeee!"

"Speech."Something metallic and tangy fell from his teeth to his tongue as his jaws snapped shut. Blood. It wasn't the first time he had tasted the thick, crimson liquid - but it was the first time where he thirsted for it's taste and its warmth coating his throat on the way down. It was the first time where he truly felt murderous. Sure, he'd killed before. One time. When Lexis attacked Tempest and he happened to get involved by some off chance - but he had already grieved over that sin plenty. Then again, since that battle, things had never quite been the same. His mere appearance was enough to attest to that. Lee looked less and less like a wolf than a sickly, rabid dog now. Especially giving chase to Orion like he was, with his lips curled into snarl so sinister it was only fit for a monster.
"Call it quits?" he repeated, suppressing the urge to let out an utterly humorless laugh. "It's a little late for that, Orion!"And then with energy he didn't even know he had, he leapt, tumbling into the other wolf with all his weight, all his might, sending them both scattering to the ground. But he didn't stay down for very long. He got up, paying no mind to the dirt and grime now clinging to his fur. He was still soaked, and in the back of his mind somewhere it registered the winter breeze felt like knives at his skin, but he paid it no heed. Something new was evolving and taking form right before Orion's very eyes. In the distance, he heard Autumn call to him, but beyond a flicking of his ears, Lee decided to ignore that too. There would be time for introductions later, "You... you and your fucking pack..." He started as he stalked forward, leering at the other black wolf. "Every... single... loathing... day..." His eyes narrowed dangerously. "Your torment never left my mind. You think you're so big, Orion? Picking on the weak simply to prove your strong? I'm weak. I'm the weakest fucking creature in this entire, God-forsaken city, and look at you, grovelling at my feet. What's a matter? Am I suddenly worth a little more than trash to you? Am I maybe a threat?"Lee found himself chuckling a little bit, as if there were humor to be found in this twisted turn of events. "You can go back to your pack, tail between your legs, and tell them that Leonardo isn't going to be stepped on again. Not by you. Not by anyone. And like hell I'll ever... ever let you lay your filthy paws on Autumn..."( Picasso K!tten Pic - I don't know what you wanted Lee to do to Orion, so I'm leaving it up to you. )

Pluton Leader Smiff K!ttenOrion didn't think Lee would stop, and that was starting to scare him. Not that Orion would ever admit he felt fear. Swallowing it down, the black wolf continued to run from the two canines, despite his aching paws and gasping lungs. Perhaps he's slowed down, Orion wasn't sure, but suddenly a heavy force sent Orion sprawling. Winded, the black wolf gasped for breath as he lay on his side. Spots appeared in his eyes as he tried to gain his bearings. However, Lee wasn't going to let him up. The other wolf had recovered faster than him, and was now walking towards him with clear intention in his eyes. For a split second, Orion was positive he was going to die under the paws of Leonardo. Orion tried to scrabble back, but knew Lee could easily stop him if he wanted to. The pain in his side wasn't subsiding, and Orion wondered if he'd actually cracked a rib. God, he didn't want to turn into an invalid, just like Kai had done. He didn't want their pity if he could no longer hunt or fight. He would be seen as useless, an inconvenience. Letting out a shaky laugh, he switched his gaze between the wolf and the coyote. God, he really shouldn't have started chasing Autumn. "For God's sake, Lee, stop being so dramatic," He drawled, trying not let the fear show in his voice, "I'll just go, ok? I didn't realise you were so fucking insane." Orion bared his teeth, before he flattened his ears, knowing this wasn't the time to rile up the wolf that could rip out his throat in seconds. "Do you really want your... whatever the fuck that coyote is to you... do you really want him to see you like this? He looks pretty scared to me." Orion nodded to the smaller canine, eyes glinting dangerously, saying you're lucky Lee came along, otherwise you'd be dead right now. "So what're you going to do to me? Or are you too coward to do anything but give me empty threats?" Orion barked. Shit, wrong thing to say. Orion would rather have empty threats than real injuries. Orion decided to try and stand up, carefully watching Lee's reaction as he slowly made to move to his paws.
