ALONSO. just because you're not a fighter, doesn't mean you don't fight; you fight because you're a lover.
It was almost like dramatic music should be playing, clouding the ears of the fighters throughout the land. Sneeking in, was just so exhilarating for Alonso. Like, they were marching in for a victory. Although Alonso and the rest had no idea that this would be far from a victory; it would be a slaughter. He knew that Tempest was known for their elite fight skills and tactic ways of being such a tight knit pack. He also knew that Iris was known for being unmerciful, slow painful deaths aka torturing. All of this if he thought about it long enough scared him, but yet he wanted Lexis to be known for more than their peace. They needed to make a stand. This was there stand.
Concerning himself, Alonso had no worries. Death didn't scare him, he knew that could be the price for participating. His worries laid with his friend Violet. As he hastily trotted further onto Tempest lands, his eyes kept frantically switching backwards to his friend. He couldn't watch her die tonight, let alone fight. But it was her life. He wasn't trying to control it, just protect her. By no means was Alonso aggressive, but he could see his other side coming out if it meant he could save Violet's life - or anyone's life. Almost as if it it was in slow motion, he watched his friends engage in battle. It was time. Glancing back to Violet, he whispered "Be safe." before running forward to engage in the combat. He hoped Violet would follow his direction, but just in case, he planned on keeping an eye on her.
At that moment though, his sights were set on a dog about his age and size. The mutt was picking left and right at different battles, until he saw Alonso eyeing him. The two charged head on, teeth baring as they clashed. This would be a fight, he just hoped that he and Violet made it. Or even just Violet.
OOC: btw, had to post quick and it sucks popsicles. also, the dog he's fighting isn't a real character. Might come back and tweak the post because it sucks so much. SORRY D:

Violet The sound of howls and snarls filled the thick, tense air. The small flame-coloured feline trotting rapidly alongside Alonso as they neared the front line of battle, oh how she longed to feel blood and flesh between her teeth and under her claws. It was time. Iris would pay for what they did to her, they had been wrong and justice would be served. As for Tempest, well her resentment for canines still lived strong with the warrior's heart and no amount of affection from Lexis or her friend could remove that. They all deserved to die, fools. Her blood throbbed loudly in her twitching ears as finally the pair reached the midst of the action, her vibrant green eyes glittering with vicious lust. There was a voice beside her, and Violet glanced up coldly. The cat dipped her head slowly, but as Alonso turned and bounded away into the fray a malicious sneer darkened her pretty face. The chocolate labrador was the biggest idiot of all, hah, thinking he could trust her? How had he not realised she had been playing a game, how had any of them not realised for that matter?
Suddenly Violet leaped forth and bolted after Alonso, a fearsome yowl sounding from her throat. He was a dog, stupidly ignorant and, just like all of his kind, he deserved to die. He was locked in battle with another repulsive mutt and Vi took advantage of this. Cackling, she hissed before jumping into the lab's back, narrowly avoiding his opponent's swiping paw, and dug her claws onto his flesh for a decent hold. With her free, razor-sharp teeth, the feline pulled back her head and then shot her jaws forward: aiming at his vulnerable eyes. If Alonso was blind, he wouldn't stand a chance ... he would be killed in an instant. She was not paying any attention to what was going on around her, in fact, the ginger female didn't even notice that her 'leader' had taken them straight into an ambush from both Tempest and Iris. Lexis was doomed, but Violet wouldn't have cared anyway. As long as she murdered this good-for-nothing fool, she would be content.
ooc: anyone feel free to attack violet, drag her off alonso, whatever :]

Alice
Blood. Blood everywhere. The smell of death and fear filled the air. Alice was trembling. She was mad at herself. She always had some panic attacks before every battle. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "You're going to be fine. Everything's going to be fine" she muttered to herself quietly, doubting her own words. A part of her wanted to run away. The other part of her wanted to join the fight. She slowly got up from the crouched position. The last 10 minutes, she was hiding in the bushes, hoping nobody would saw her. She was frozen, like a deer in front of a car's headlights. Suddenly she heard a bark. A small dog with bloodied muzzle was coming to get her. Alice closed her eyes. Fight or die. Fight or die. Fight or die. Fight or d... She blinded the small dog with her claws. He screamed in agony when she struck him. Alice ripped his throat open in one swift move. The fighter inside her won. She won. She jumped over a bush. No more hiding.
Now the real fun begins.
She stopped abruptly when she saw a few of here packmates, Crystal, Trojan, her leader Celia and a black wolf. Her ears only caught parts of the conversation, but it was enough for her to understand what was happening.
She lead us into an ambush?! An AMBUSH?!
Alice couldn't believe her ears. That means there is no hope. She's going to die. She sat down, trembling. Her mind was filled with blackness. It looked like time slowed down. Alice never thought about her death. Well, she knew she'll die someday, but not like that. But she quickly stood up. She's not going down, at least not now. She turned around, only to be welcomed by a sight of Alonso and Violet, trotting side by side. When she saw Violet she had to stop, yet again.
A few days before the fight happened, she met an old, ex-Iris feline, that knew Violet and the reason she was banned from Iris Pride. In short, Violet got pregnant with a male cat, a fellow Iris member. Well, she miscarried because of some problems she had and she was still mourning her lost kittens, when she found out that her mate had kittens with another cat. Blinded by rage she murdered her mate's kittens. Alice looked at her. The orange feline never showed any kind of sadness and Alice felt kind of bad for her. But there's no excuse for murdering innocent kittens.
Alonso said something to Violet and then turned around to attack some random Tempest member. Well, at least she found a frien.... and then Violet jumped right on labrador's back, hissing and dugging her claws into his spine. Oh, hell no! First Celia and now this. Alice immediately recovered from shock and rushed to the rescue. She jumped and hit Violet right in her shoulder. They both fell down and rolled. Alice ear was now scratched and her muzzle was still covered in dog's blood. "You have a thing for backstabbing your pack mates, don't you?" she hissed looking around. There were a lot of canines and felines fighting each other. And corpses. A lot of corpses.
If dying here and going to hell today is my fate, then so be it. But not before I take some of these fuckers down with me.

Sky
Stand in the ashes of a million dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honour matters.
Here in the depth of the night there was little light to navigate by, but the shine from the moon and the stars was more than enough for the two lithe shadows that slid through the underbrush. Two pairs of eyes shone in the darkness as the felines snuck through Tempest territory on careful paws. This was it - the silence before the storm. After years of pacifism the Lexis Tribe had finally made its move. Sky hoped it was the right one, but she knew for sure that she supported any decision that included actually doing something to solve this war, instead of standing idly by. Sky glanced at her brother, caught his eye, and they nodded to each other with more confidence than either of them felt. Then a howl split the summer night for the briefest of moments before it was cut short, though it was rapidly followed by another howl.
They know we're here.
Too early. It was too early! The plan had been to make their way all the way to the asylum before they were discovered. There were too many sentries out here. Sky's stomach started churning - something was wrong. But she had no time to listen to her instincts, for everywhere yowls and barks could be heard as members of Tempest and Lexis fought and bled and died. The lynx broke into a run and advanced quickly, skipping over fallen sentries and in-between the shapes of felines and canines locked in battle. Without looking back she could sense her brother two steps behind her, lending her a sense of security. At least she knew someone would have her back in this.
She made her way towards the second howl, the one that had lasted and warned the pack of the impending attack. She broke through the underbrush and into a little clearing just in time to see a Tempest soldier burry his fangs in the throat of a Scottish wildcat that Sky easily recognized even with his throat ripped out. His name had been Lucky, quite ironically. "Bastard," she swore underneath her breath with rage building in her chest, and she immediately exploded into movement. "Why don't you pick a fight with someone your own size?" she hissed, her words dripping with venom as she leapt at the dog's unprotected flank.
Sky's going for Ryu. Her brother is just an NPC, so anyone is free to play him.

"Speech."
Blood dripped lazily from her claws that’d torn in the black wolf’s chest – at least she then had some blood on her. They might be outnumbered, but Lexis wouldn’t leave without a fight. Tempest where going to remember them after this, and that because they actually made a fight. But her intentions of scaring the black wolf off unfortunately hadn’t worked well enough - seeing as he still lingered under the tree which Celia sat in despite the fact he was outnumbered three to one. At least, that until another young wolf appeared by his side, trying to puff herself up by leaving a witty comment. Stupid thing, why couldn’t she mind her own business and bother someone else? ”Shut it, pup and go home. I’m too busy for you. Besides, I bet you’re of better use somewhere you aren’t trotted on,” she spat back at the wolf, trying to mock the youngster as Celia’s paw collided with her head, trying to push her away with a claws showing, scratching her head in the process. Small drops of blood starting to colour her beautiful fur as she snarled at the lioness, but despite Celia’s attempt to push her away, the young snow leopard managed to get onto a branch close to the lioness.
”Oh no, don’t you think you’ll get rid of me that easily you traitor – I’m not done with ya!" she sneered with bristling fur and lashing tail. ”Time for you to go down, kitty.” Tension her body, Crystal easily jumped onto the branch where Celia sat, a loud crack sounding as the branch broke from the weight of two big cats. Crystal yowled in surprise and panicked in the second, but luckily found her knight in shining armour in the tree’s massive tree trunk which she held onto with all claws out. ”I will always remember you for your kindness,” she mumbled to the tree while looking into the tree trunk, eyes wide and fur straight in surprise. Jumping down on the ground, Crystal looked around trying to find the lioness. ”Come here and fight me you coward!” she shouted angrily.
*** Just as he let go of the Scottish Wildcat’s open throat, two shadows came out of the bushes from just behind him. He barely sensed the blood the wildcat had drawn on his back, because a much bigger problem soon raced toward him. The two shadows appeared to be a pair of lynxes and the female one of them certainly wasn’t happy of Ryu’s newest kill. He turned – just in time to protect his bared flank and to collide with the female lynx, sending them both wrestling at the ground. ”If you can’t take blood, you crazy lady, you shouldn’t have come here in the first place!” he growled as he tried to avoid her attacks as both of them fought to gain the advantage. Then the lynx razor sharp fangs caught his neck, just behind his ear, as he tried to get her off him and he growled fiercely, attempting to brace the pain as he felt his head grow dizzy.
Finally managing to get some distance between the two of them, Ryu panted to regain oxygen in his lungs. She was stronger than you’d have just thought, but perhaps that was also because he probably just had killed one of her friends. That’d make everyone go into a blood rage. The black and white male huffed, making sure to focus on his enemy’s moves if she should suddenly choose to target him wildly again. ”Remember who were the ones to cross the borders. We’re just protecting what is rightfully ours,” he growled, hackles rising on the back. ”You better get lost before you’re all killed. You haven’t got a chance against us.” Fierce growls sounded in the night, indicating that the soldiers were starting to lead the ignorant Lexis members toward Tooth Cliff where they would meet their end – if they weren’t caught by the Tempest members sent out to kill off the ones that tried to escape. Why was he even trying to knock some sense into this lynx? It wasn’t like he cared much for felines in general, but he still didn’t understand fully why the Lexis Tribe was doing this. Couldn’t they see it was all in vain?

On the outskirts of the battle, Alex sat watching with a passive look on his face, ready to snatch up anyone fleeing from the fight. That the Lexis Tribe hadn't come to the conclusion that Celia was a double-agent before today just proved once and for all that its members were a bunch of colossal idiots. They didn't have to be here risking their lives, they didn't have to blindly follow Celia into war, but they were so mentally castrated that any leader with some pretty words and promising ideas could have them put under a spell of obedience, like a flute charming a snake.
They were brainless sheep, no doubt about that. But maybe he could use that to his advantage...even if they were stupid beyond all belief, they could still be useful to him in some ways. They didn't seem too bad out there on the battlefield from what he could see, and as he continued to watch them the wheels began to turn in his head. Stepping forward, he addressed the feline warriors loudly and clearly. "Lexis cats! I'm about to offer you a way out of this; consider what I have to say, since it could mean the difference between life and death for you."
He tried to keep his voice casual and almost friendly. Threatening them was pointless and most likely wouldn't work. "Join the Iris Pride. Become one of us. The Lexis Tribe is gone, but I'm now offering you shelter, protection, food, a new place and family to call home. Among our ranks, you'll be accepted and shown respect, and if anyone looks down on you for once being part of the tribe, they will be punished. I will give you a new start, a new purpose, and if you join me and help defeat Tempest, I will make personally sure you and your friends do not die today. Yes, you were deceived by Celia, but why don't we let bygones be bygones? You've got everything to gain and nothing to lose. Choose carefully." After he finished, he resumed sitting back down in the grass, calmly surveying the action. Chances were these cats were too lacking in brain matter to know a good offer when it was handed to them on a silver plate, but it was at least worth a shot. And if they refused, he wouldn't feel guilty when he watched them all die.
OOC: this post is ten times better if you imagine Alex speaking in Darth Vader's voice. "Come over to the daaark siiide~! *hiss*"

ALONSO. just because you're not a fighter, doesn't mean you don't fight; you fight because you're a lover.
Clashing with the other dog, jaws barring and blood spewing from both of them, Alonso felt a strong pressure on his back. A loud yelp escaped from his muzzle as he tried shaking of the mangy cat on his back. The cats claws dug deep into his skin, and looking up...a familiar paw stretched for his eyes. He'd be blind in a heartbeat. Thrashing around harder, the cat seemed planted on him. But it wasn't just any cat, the paws were familiar to him. The cat had to be Violet. Anger raged inside of him, all of this time...she had been playing him. She had been waiting for this day, the day where she could kill him. And here he was, protecting and befriending her, hoping that she survived the battle. Pain seared as she struck his face, just barely missing his cornea. The dog leapt forward for Alonso's leg, biting into it viciously. He was going to die, killed by a dangerous dog and his presumed best friend cat.
It was then he lost his footing as Violet was pushed off of him. Alonso collapsed on his back, the other dog jumping on top of him. His leg was throbbing and gushing blood, but he was determined to speak to Violet before he died. Lunging forwards, he locked his jaws on the dog's neck and tore with all his strength causing the mutt to fall. Dead as a doornail. Alonso hastily rolled over onto his side, realizing that it had been Alice who had saved him. He heard what she asked Violet, apparently she did have a thing for it. Backstabbing. He should have known.
Forcing himself to stand, he "charged" at Violet as she was watching Alice. The lab then caught her tail in his jaws, dragging her to her feet and then taking a paw to restrict her. "I trusted you!", he exclaimed. "And instead, you try to kill me!", he yelled at her. Pain caught up with him, blood spilling from his most likely broken leg. He fell to his feet, almost landing on Violet. He was half dead, and somehow he knew Violet would kill him. If she didn't, someone would. His eyes searched for Alice, but then soon met Violet's. Part of his body, had indeed landed on her leg. "I cared for you!...I...I..", he mumbled out. The dog had taken a huge chunk out of his leg, he was getting hazy.
"I loved you! I loved you today, and you tried to kill me.", finally the truth was out...this was just now how he expected it to happen. With Violet at his throat, desiring to kill him.

Moo has asked me to bunny her characters. Brooked huffed in indignation. For such a small group of pussies, they were giving Tempest a run for their money. Not enough to damage their ranks in the least, but certainly more than she wished they would have. Though she longed for the battlefield, Brooke resigned herself to the Asylum with the pups and juveniles. Leading them up to the roof, she watched, the moon her outlining her silhouette in the night as the battle unfolded. She saw it all. Each and every dog down there fighting for a common goal. Enlightenment would dawn on her tonight. She would make her final decision about the future of Tempest after this battle. ---- "speech"
Lee only barely caught Harley and Ryu running towards him when suddenly there was a feline flying at him. What was going on? Thankfully Ryu managed to snatch the cat out of thin air and throw him before he could touch Lee, but the melanistic wolf was caught in a state of shock. He had initially come to make trouble, but trouble had instead found him. He'd spent many a day dreaming of the first time he'd be able to fight like his father and mother against a lion and bravely defend those he cared about, but this... this was horrific. All around him were fallen bodies, the smell of fear and fresh blood, the screams and yowls of agony. It was almost too much to handle. In fact, it would have been if Harley didn't quite literally bump into him as he whipped past to help Ryu fight off the lynxes attacking him.
Shaking his head, Lee barred his teeth and charged. Maybe he wasn't part of Tempest, but he at least owed Ryu a favor for saving him from Jupiter. Charging forward, the loner and mischief maker became something else: a warrior. With the image of his father that he'd only heard of in battle stories in his head, he charged straight into Sky and knocked her off the Tempest Soldier. Though he had been the runt of his litter (and the only survivor for that matter), he was still an Arctic Wolf and would be an ample match for the a Lynx. Especially with scores of other dogs ready to help out.
Harley, meanwhile, was engaging Sky's brother. He seemed to be struggling. So with a little nod to Ryu to assure him that his debt had been repaid, he decided to help the other soldier out as well. He leapt onto the back of the feline and dug his teeth into his scruff, shifting his weight to unbalance the feline. Once the creature was on the ground, Harley wasted no time in finishing off the lynx by tearing open it's exposed neck.
Once the lynx stopped struggling, Lee shuffled to his four and panted. He gave the German Shepherd a cheeky little sneer. They were a pretty good team, "Who's next?" Jade snuck through the undergrowth quietly. How dare her poor excuse for a father leave her behind? Though on her way to the Tempest Pack she had quickly discovered that Iris was stalking about nearby. Thank god she had undergone the training at Lexis or she wouldn't have known to stay downwind from them. Gliding around the scores of cats and dogs ready to kill her was difficult. Tons of her fur had gotten caught in bracken and thorns along the way, but a few scratches and patches of missing fur were nothing compared to her life.
Honestly, after figuring out that this was whole plan of attack was no more than lining up pigs for slaughter, she should have left. She was smart enough not to give up her own life. But her dad was still out there fighting... and as much as she despised his guts she was going to go save him. Lead him back out the way she came. That is, if he was even still alive.
"Why am I doing this," she murmured as she finally stepped into the fray. All around Jade was chaos. It took her a few moments to find her bearings, but it was thankfully right in the nick of time. A dog came charging at her. Instinct took over in the next moment, and she barely jumped out of the way of the canine's gaping jaws, only to slash it right in the nose. Fur fluffed out to make her appear twice her size, Jade hissed and bolted away from the animal while it recoiled from the damage taken.
Short, ragged breaths escaped her as she tried to suppress fear. Where was her stupid father? "Dad!" she yowled, hoping, by some miracle, he'd hear her voice over the roar of battle. A few moments standing in one place, and Jade assumed he was elsewhere. She had to keep trying though. Jupiter was the only family she had.
It was then that she ran into Alonso being attacked by Violet. For a moment, she stood there, confused. Violet and Alonso were both of Lexis. Why were they fighting each other? But when the poor Lab started talking of betrayal, Jade understood. Or, she at least understood enough to be thoroughly pissed. "Get offa him!" she warned. "Or I'll... I'll!" but really, what could a five month old kitten like her do? "I'll kill you!" she bluffed.

The lioness didn't rise to her bait - instead, as the snow leopard attempted to attack her, she fled, leaping down from the tree. Valkyrie relaxed slightly and raised an eyebrow at the furious feline's words, telling her dryly, "I was, in fact, talking to your friend, who seems to just have departed." It was at that moment that a loud, unmistakable voice sounded from nearby - but closer to the main battle. She would have known it anywhere from her time in captivity - Alex, the white lion who lead the Iris pride. Without wasting a moment, she got up and ran towards where she she could still hear him talking, barging into a Lexis cat who was in the way, and delivering a nip to the side of its neck as it attempted to attack her. It gave a pained yowl and fell to the ground. So determined was she to see the cowardly Iris leader for herself, the young she-wolf actually stepped on the cat as she hurried onwards.
There was another audible crack of breaking bones and an even louder yowl from the cat, which she ignored, bulling through the mass of fighting bodies. Her mind was racing as the ivory lion spoke, attempting to get the Lexis felines to join his pride. She knew that if they did go over to him, his reinforced numbers would mean Tempest and any innocent creatures would have more trouble on their paws within a very short time. Perhaps his strategy was even to attack with the pride a day or so after the battle, when the Pack was licking their wounds and recovering from the assault.
Something had to be done.
Snarling at a caracal who had just bitten into her flank, she retaliated in a flurry of claws and teeth, earning herself several more scratches but managing to detach her enemy.
Racing frantically towards Alex, she stopped some twenty metres away from him, side on to both he and the battle so that she could see most of what went on.
When he had finished talking, she called out, her voice as loud and threatening as the son of Florence's had been, a ferocious snarl, "The first cat to make a move towards him dies! If you want to join Iris, you'll be treated like one of them!" She stood firm, legs spread evenly, muscles tensed as she prepared to attack anyone foolish enough to take up Alex's offer.

”Oh no, don’t you think you’ll get rid of me that easily you traitor – I’m not done with ya!"
"Traitor? I guess you don't know what's going on after all, do you?" The lioness said with a chuckle, though her expression didn't match her tone. She would compare Crystal's attempts at trying to get her down to a kitten bothering an adult. Maybe she would go down then lead these two outside of Tempests' borders and let the pride deal with them. Celia did her part of leading this tribe of complete idiots here to their deaths.
When the branch began to crack, she stood on her feet as best as she could but crouching a little. When the two lions fell, Celia disappeared into the undergrowth. She kept herself hidden watching Crystal as she seemed to go momentarily insane and say something to the tree she clung to. Once again, Celia ignored the smaller felines taunts. She could say whatever she wanted, Celia wasn't dumb enough to rush headfirst into a fight. If the snow leopard wanted a fight, Crystal would have to go and look for her. Then she could die with the rest of her pathetic excuse of a pack.
A voice caught her attention, and a small smile appeared on her face. The felines were being offered a chance to be left alive. Celia silently questioned Alex's offered to the lexis cats but, they could probably be useful for something.
The female wolf, who had just arrived, stupidly rushed by in the direction of her leaders voice. Did she think she could take on another lion by herself. Was almost everyone involved in this battle a complete idiot? Celia waited until the wolf was a few feet ahead of her before moving after her.
"The first cat to make a move towards him dies! If you want to join Iris, you'll be treated like one of them!"
She was walking toward the pride and the wolf as she spoke. Celia shook her head; this she-wolf wasn't making her pack look good at all. "Really? Do you think you can stop every feline that comes our way?" She now stood a few feet in front of the wolf, one side to the pride the other to the boarders. Thanks to the spirited fatass and the pampered kitten she was probably missing watching the tribe die, maybe this over confident she-wolf would be entertaining.
Marnie It wasn't until after she had killed her victim that she payed attention to what was going on around her. She crouched down on the dogs' corpse as she watched cats and dogs race past her and clash with each other. Some of her packmates were being killed while the rest were being herded toward the cliff. It was only a matter of time before she ended up like them. She glanced a dog running in her direction before Marnie took off ahead of her toward the the packs borders. Marnie lunged at a figure that was running in the same direction as her, either she was panicking too much to notice or care that it was another feline. She knocked him over and bit into the side of his neck before continuing to where she thought she would be able to escape the slaughter. Another figure soon came into view, this one was much larger than Marnie though. The wildcat lunged at the figure, not thinking of the consequences. For a second time in a row Marnie seemed to either not notice or care that she was attacking a comrade. (she's attacking Crystal, hope you don't mind. I don't plan on keeping her so anyone can powerplay or just kill her)

GHOSTVALLY Now this may be the last of all the rides we take --- Blood, blood and fighting. A scene far too familiar for the serval as her seafoam eyes scanned the area. She was afraid, you could tell. The albino serval knew someone was going to die, thats how fights like this always ended up. Wasn't it? She just hoped her life would be spared like it had been last time. A lucky escape. But she knew the same thing wouldn't happen twice, it never did. But Ghostvally didn't back down despite the huge amount of shaking she was doing as she got closer to the fight. She didn't have anyone to live for anymore, so her death wouldn't be as bad would it? Her dad was gone, and her brother. She didn't even know where her other siblings were anymore and she only hoped they were going to live through this. Her vision was shaking slightly and she felt sick, but she had to fight. Prove to herself she wasn't as useless as she made herself out to be. But the Iris Pride wasn't really a good place for a cat like her, was it? But she couldn't leave, she knew she would miss everyone far too much. And her father, he would want her to stay. She knew it. Her eyes narrowed with determination as she snuck into the fight, knowing how close she had been to death with her first encounter with a dog and not wanting to make the same mistakes again. She knew better. Her claws were sinking into the soft earth under her paws as she looked around restlessly to make sure that nobody snook up on her. --- So hold on tight and don't look back

Sky
Stand in the ashes of a million dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honour matters. The lynx and the Canaan dog collided and merged into a struggling ball of barred fangs, claws and snarls. He was more compact than her, but where he had four pairs of dull claws she had four pairs of razor sharp ones. She'd flay him alive if she got the chance. They rolled once and she felt the pain flare as he bore down on her with all his weight, pressing her into the dust until her breath left her in an angry hiss. Sky snarled and threw herself upwards, and as they continued their wrestling she felt her fangs snap shut on the tender flesh underneath his ear. She heard a satisfying yelp leave the dog as blood filled her mouth.
But she did not get to enjoy her victory for long, before another canine torpedoed into her from the side. They landed in a mash of fur and flesh, and once again her breath was violently ripped from her lungs. Her attacker was soon on his feet and on his way again, apparently uninterested in finishing the job when he had the chance. It took her a moment longer to drag herself up on all fours, her breath audible as small pants as her body fought to drag oxygen back into her struggling lungs. Every movement sent jolts of pain through her chest - she must've bruised her ribs in the fall.
"Remember who were the ones to cross the borders. We’re just protecting what is rightfully ours,"
Sky's bitter laugh turned into a bitter cough as she turned her gaze to the Tempest soldier, braising herself for the inevitable attack. "As long as the packs exist, you will continue waging war on each other and slaughtering every innocent person who happens to be in your way. You don't protect - you destroy," she hissed with a voice still weak from lack of breath.
"SKY!"
Her brother's despairing howl made her gaze snap to the scene unfolding behind the Canaan dog. She saw the arctic wolf fall upon her brother like he had fallen upon her. Her eyes widened and a weak "no!" left her, almost inaudible. Her body exploded into action, but it was too late. As she leapt onto the back of the arctic wolf, she heard her brother shout her name once more, abruptly interrupted as the German shepherd buried his fangs in his throat. She saw the blood flow before the impact of her leap made her and the wolf roll onto the ground. She untangled herself and withdrew, panting, her eyes on her brother. Her brother, who had already bled out on the dusty ground. Everything seemed to slow for a moment, as her gaze moved in a daze from Harley to Lee to Ryu. Her eyes were as lifeless and as void of emotions as those of her dead brother. She felt as if everything had turned to ash inside her.
"You bastards," she whispered, tears burning in her eyes. The pain was a monster clawing at her entrails, tearing holes from the inside.
Then she turned. And she ran.
This is Sky leaving the thread. Though if someone wants to interrupt her, feel free to do so.

"Speech."
Her target had vanished. Danm… what she wouldn’t have given to get a taste of that bitch’s crimson blood. She searched the undergrowth while the bug of a young wolf spoke to her, but that coward Celia was already gone. Then she heard a loud voice speaking, as if addressing the whole lot of them. Crystal gazed up to see a white figure further away. She couldn’t quite tell the details of the male lion, but he seemed handsome enough at range – except from the fact that his words indicated he was some important figure to the Iris Pride. Was it Alexander, the son of Florence and Panja? He had to be, who else could he be? Crystal’s breaths came quicker as her heart started to pound harder in her chest. Alexander spoke the truth. The Lexis Tribe was gone… she didn’t even have to look around the battlefield for long before she knew it was a fact. It had all been a trap, they were losing. And no way in hell was she going to be recruited by the ones leading her and her tribe to slaughter! Who the hell does he think he is! Her muzzle twisted in a low hiss and her fur rose on her bushy tail. She was a big cat, perhaps not the best at war for now, but she could become it. Her size could perhaps be of advantage to the Iris Pride… But she wouldn’t give herself to them as some sort of prize. There had to be another way. She could run, now, go out and live as a loner. Maybe she could gather some remaining members of the Lexis Tribe and-
Turning around, she saw how many canines and felines were pushed off the cliff further away. Crystal’s eyes widened at the sight. What was happening? This slaughter was worse than she had imagined. The Tempest dogs at the cliff howled victoriously as they just stood there, forcing the Lexis Tribe members off the cliff and down in the water beneath. The screams of the falling seemed to echo in her mind, but being paralyzed wasn’t an option right now. There was no time to linger, she had to go. She had to get out of here. She turned, but just in the movement a figure suddenly attacked her. The sharp claws indicated it was another feline, but it was much smaller than her so she quickly tore it off with a clawed paw. Only to see that it was Marnie. ”What are you-” she cut herself off, it didn’t matter, there was no time to ask. ”Come on, we have to go!” she said and started to run, hoping to escape this madness. If the wanted to get away, they had to move quickly. She didn’t know Marnie well, but if she wanted to live, she surely had to know how to run.
Quickly picking up speed, Crystal chose to stop for nothing. Alexander had gotten the attention of some of the fighters and much of the Tempest Pack was occupied with slaughtering her comrades. There was nothing she could do about it. There were too many canines and only one of her. Even though she was a big cat, she couldn’t stand up against them. But perhaps she would one day. Perhaps she would one day get revenge. A shepherd snarled and ran to stand in her way, but Crystal continued. ”Out of my way!” she hissed and mauled the canine in collision as it was too slow to move. Not caring to finish it off, the young snow leopard continued running. She slowed her pace as she crossed the Tempest Pack’s borders, feeling slightly more secure. But it wasn’t for long. Two medium sized shadows appeared at the corner of her eye, and though she didn’t know what was happening, she knew they weren’t friendly. She increased her speed once more, but too late. An ocelot attacked her flank, and Crystal had to get it off to continue. She therefore turned her front, hurling the feline off her with sharp teeth, getting her nose filled with the stench of Iris in the process. Great, just one more reason to never trust the Iris Pride. They’d lead Lexis to slaughter, and now they wanted to kill off those who tried to escape? A bobcat then charged her, but she kicked it hard in the chest before it could catch her with its sharp claws. Not caring to finish off these either, Crystal turned to run again, feeling how sadness started to get its toll on her. Everyone was getting killed. Everyone. Even those trying to escape would get ambushed. With such a strategy, how many of the Tribe she’d grown up in would remain? Would she be the only one? Her surroundings started to blur as tears began to wet her eyes. No, she couldn’t cry now, she had to get to safety first. Then she could plan out how to get her revenge.
((OOC: Exit Crystal!))
*** He nodded gratefully to Lee. Hadn’t it been for the wolf, he might still be on the ground struggling with the feline to get an upper hand. And he couldn’t say it was pleasant to be wrestling with a feline for a long amount of time – their claws could be vicious if they caught the right places of tender skin. He knew that far better than he wanted after having been caged in the midst of the Iris Pride for a year. Lee was heading off though, to help Harley kill off the lynx which earlier had been flanking the female he’d just been fighting. He huffed at her words. What did the Lexis Tribe know of war? They weren’t warriors, but still they’d come here to fight. It just didn’t seem to make sense.
The lynx before him suddenly seemed keener on something happening behind him. Ryu heard the sound of a limp body falling to the ground, and he knew Lee and Harley had dealt with the other lynx. The female’s try of aid had come too late. A pity. Noticing the distant gaze in her eyes, Ryu could tell that the male had been someone important to her. A family member? A good friend? She turned to run, and he huffed. Where was she going? He might not fully like this slaughter because something seemed to be wrong, but they were trespassers nonetheless and he wouldn’t just let her run off like that. A growl emerged in his throat and he started to run, but a scene soon made him stop. A few felines had started gathering, hesitating in their battle, as they clearly considered Alexander’s offer. Alexander… what was he doing here? But what was more important was the young wolf running in the white lion’s direction. It was Valkyrie. How could she be so stupid as to approach a male lion on her own? He shrugged off the thought. He would waste significant time thinking about such things right now. Deciding the Iris leader was of greater importance than the escaping lynx, Ryu dashed toward Valkyrie, who stood 20 meters from the white lion.
A Bengal cat tried to sneak toward Alexander, not aware of Ryu that attacked her from behind. ”Anyone taking one step more toward the Iris Pride will end up like her,” he said with a growl. He then took the dead body and threw it toward the other felines, making some of them recoil slightly. He eyed each side of the scene, careful not to look away from Alexander for too long at a time while pawing to stand beside Valkyrie. ”Fancied you could use a little help,” he mumbled with a slightly crooked smile, only loud enough for her to hear, tail raised high as he stood on guard.

This was getting bad. The recent unfolding of events was making Harley's blood boil and fur stand on end. To think that the Lexis tribe had been led right to their deaths to be ambushed by both parties... it made him ill. But he couldn't focus on that, now. Blood was roaring through his veins and his heart was blasting. The screams around him and the carnage below would not bother or even register until it was all over. Adrenaline was running for now, completely governing him. He looked fairly pleased as Lee rushed to help Ryu -- with this lynx heading towards Harley at a fast pace, it was clear he had something else to worry about. Ryu would be fine. He grunted as the lynx landed a few bites, and he tumbled to the ground, hearing a sickening squelch beneath his weight. He had further crushed another victim of the war.
He lashed a paw out to try and get the creature off of him, but the ambush had left him slightly defenseless. Thankfully, Lee rushed back to help him out, and Harley couldn't help but let out a low bark of a laugh. He was able to swipe the creature off and used powerful jaws to snap at the lynx's neck. Its life was ended in an instant of pearl teeth and red. Panting, he looked up and gave Lee a lopsided grin. "Well, look at you, mate, seems like you've been Tempest's little savior, aye?" He then turned; there was the matter of that cat running away -- perhaps he had just killed her relative. She seemed quite upset... but Harley wasn't going to shed tears over those killed by his jaw. He couldn't afford to do that or he would have lost his sense of right and wrong long ago.
Ryu seemed to notice her fleeing, and he quickly followed. That left Harley and Lee in the midst of battle, and with Alexander approaching, things could only get worse from here. Valkyrie was attempting to bluff out Lexis cats from joining Iris... Ryu was most needed there. They had other things to worry about. Another cat was barreling towards the pair. "I think there's a contender," he answered, growling and hunching forward, ears flat and ready to begin. "Cover me, kid," he barked as he launched his large body forward to snap at the neck of the cat.
Jupiter yowled loudly as soon as the dog whacked him from midair out of the way. And... that was it. Was he so worthless that they didn't bother finishing him off? He grunted and stood weakly, legs shaking slightly. Yes, now he understood what was happening here... They've been betrayed. Ambushed. They were on the death march, being led right to their graves. And he hadn't even fought, he had done nothing. All he did was get knocked to the side... would that be the legacy he left behind? Always moping, barely paying attention to his own daughter... he could hear her screams now, in the distance, ready t- wait. His eyes widened and he suddenly yowled and hurdled himself forward, barely getting back on his paws before rushing towards the noise. Jade was here! He had told her to stay behind, this was no place for her! But now that was past; he would reprimand her later. Now he had to focus on getting her to safety. The worries of his own life and lack of its luster began to fade as he focused his attention on the kitten that was attempting to bluff out a fighting pair. Jupiter was a fuzzy blur as he ran to grab at his daughter, pulling her away. "That's enough! We need to escape!" he hissed at her before looking over his shoulder. Alexander's offer sounded promising, but dogs were starting to crowd around him to keep them from taking it. He growled and looked around; what would they do now? All he wanted was to keep his daughter safe. They couldn't trust anyone anymore... they had been betrayed.

As she finished speaking, Valkyrie noticed the lioness from before coming toward her. She was certain, now, that the seemingly traitorous feline was a member of the Iris pride. No, she wasn't a traitor, she was just treacherous. Just like all her pridemates.
The young she-wolf only growled at the lioness as she spoke disdainfully, heart pounding with fear. She stood her ground, though; she was scared of what her enemy might do, not of her. "I'll do my best - I'm not afraid of dying, unlike you, you pussy!" Amber eyes blazing, she jumped on one foolish cat who made a dash for Alex and the Iris pride, winding him and tearing out his throat almost in the same deft movement. Disentangling herself, she spat out a mouthful of bloodied cat throat at Celia's paws and kicked the body towards her, almost pacing as she moved away from the lioness so that she had slightly more room if another cat came - and so that she had more warning if the Iris member tried to attack her. She didn't like killing, but these cats were practically Iris members themselves - and any who supported Alex's insane regime deserved to die.
Turning back to the battlefield, the arctic-timber wolf cross witnessed Ryu throwing the body of a freshly-killed cat into a clump of its live fellows as he stood next to her. She returned his smile with a grim one of her own, dipping her head to her comrade and packmate gravely. "Thank you."
A moment later, two servals broke away from the main throng of fighting and rushed towards Alex - and Ryu and Valkyrie. "I'll take the one on the left!" She snarled the words out even as she raced to meet the foe. The feline was ready for her, however, and tried to dodge around her, its front paw swiping at the side of her face. The blow hit and blood beaded from the cuts, but before the serval was fully past her, she whipped around, closing her powerful jaws on one slender hind leg. The feline yowled with pain, tripping and immediately retaliating, launching itself towards her, its own mouth opening to close around her throat.
Biting down on the leg and rendering it useless, she had a moment to act as it recoiled in agony. Pulling away and unclasping her jaws, she rushed forward to meet the cat's attack, feeling small teeth pierce the skin behind her shoulder. Valkyrie's forepaws left the ground as her right one slammed forward and hitting the serval's skull, hard. Th momentum combined with that of her enemy and the weight of her paw snapped its neck, eyes glazing over and its maw still bared in a snarl as it feel forward, dead.
