Iris Pride Auditions It's been a long time coming, but the Iris Pride is now in need of a new leader. Ever since The Iris Pride was created, it has been a ruthless, sadist Pride who will do whatever it takes to win the war.
But times are changing.
We don't want the Pride to be like this. The Pride has lost all of its morals, many of its followers, and it is crumbling before our eyes. We need to stop this, and to do so, we must have a new leader. Now I must ask turn to you guys. You have the ideas and the characters to make this happen. The Iris Pride needs to turn over a new leaf, and only you can do that.
This audition is going to be a bit different. Due to the few Iris members left, we are giving you an opportunity to audition with a character that hasn't even been created yet. Alternatively, you can use an already existing character. Whatever fits the role best.
You will be auditioning for the Leader and/or Duke/Duchess
Here is the form to fill out:

Activity level: DERP. Ok, yeah, I know, infamous Mud. I really am turning over a new leaf though! I swear on my not-at-all-dead-mother's-grave that by the time these auditions are over, I'll have made at least three IC posts. Gimme a chance to prove I'm a changed woman-girl-human! D:
Character Name: Course Age: 2yrs. Link to their bio: this Desired position: Leader (Doyen? Dignitary? Eminence?) or bust, hombre.
Why should your character be leader: Well, he's got the angst. That's the rule of any leader, right? Aside from that, he's a lion. Not to mean that in a pompous way, but ICly speaking it would make sense for the now downtrodden members of Lexis to look to a lion, right? Sort of a hark back to the good ol' days of Florence? This is all speaking from the character's point of view. Just a thought.
Other than that, it just might do him some good to grow a pair and bring out his mother's side as leader of Iris. But, being Streiter's son, he could be a much more diplomatic leader than Iris has ever had. Perhaps paying more attention to the members of the pride is what it needs.
Future plans for Iris: You heard me speaking of it in the cbox, but a slight subterfuge. Course can't change who he is, but I can see him trying to weed out the "crazies" in a weird sort of way. Dealing under the table with other groups, pitting certain factions of "hardcore" characters against each other until they fight themselves extinct. He's not afraid to play dirty if he feels it's for the greater good. Course simply wants peace through power, he doesn't care what name is on it. Be it Lexis, Iris, or even Tempest. He'll take over any of them to stop the mindless bloodshed. All the while, paying attention to the little guy. He doesn't want to be viewed as an untouchable maniacal force. Being "down to earth" will give him more of a hold on the pride's members, and more sway when he pushes them in his agenda's direction.
All that being said, someone is bound to find out what's going on eventually. So like, yeah, they'll ruin his plans maybe, and that'll be fun. Huzzah! Drama!
Other: I'm just posting this shit because who needs anonymity?

Username: Neytiri Activity level: 10-10 Character Name: Marlee Age: Four Link to their bio: applicationDesired position: Leader Why should your character be leader: Though Marlee doesn't see herself as a leader much, she has a great sense of responsibility. She's been in Iris all her life and does everything in the tribe that needs to be done, and she does it without any complaint. She's a very calm feline in most situations and is a very fair cat. She lives by a personal code and has a very, very strong sense of loyalty. With the tribe, she is very kind and gentle. She spends a lot of her time with the tribe, patrolling and hunting with them, making sure the tribe has enough food. And if they don't, she won't eat anything at all until the rest have eaten their share. She never throws her weight around, never has. She learned that nothing comes easy, and everything you get must be earned through hard work. And she has no problem with that, none whatsoever. Future plans for Iris: She plans to rebuild the tribe, take in whoever she sees fit to join. Felines only, of course. She will start by taking over small parts of the city and work her way up, slowly building up Iris's strength and confidence in their power before taking on more territory. She wants peace in Hexasol, and will do what she can to achieve it. Though she may have a soft spot for her tribe, toward those who threaten them, Marlee is not afraid to line her bed with another's fur. She is a skilled fighter, and a formidable opponent. She isn't afraid of death, and expects the tribe to be brave enough to know the risks of each fight. Long term, she plans for Iris to eventually rule over Hexasol as the dominant group. Despite her sense of fairness, she will fight dirty if she has to. She's no stranger to lying if honesty is not an option, and she knows that it will not be a lot of times. She is very responsible, and will work with strategy, but at the same time being unpredictable to Tempest. She wants to win this war so there may be peace again. And she'll do what she has to in order to achieve it.

Username: Smiff Activity level: Depends on the season, but you'll never get rid of me. Ever. |D; Character Name: Colton Age: Seven Link to their bio: N/A as of now aka i've been too lazy to put up his appDesired position: Whatever position fits best >3. Leader, Duke. Duchess... you might have to castrate him for that thoughPersonality: The best way to describe Colt here is simply saying that he is a mess of contradictions. If you were to pick him apart piece by piece, you could probably find two totally different cats hidden within him.
Colton is primarily a loner. It's not that he doesn't like people or have any kind of social anxiety. He just would often rather be by himself than in the company of others. Perhaps this is because of his isolated childhood. Perhaps it is because he is quite diligent about his work and won't let anything distract him from it. In any case, one thing you'll notice right away about this guy is that he's quite introverted. He's no wallflower though. Colt is a cat made for adventure. He has his heart set on exploring all the things he has not yet seen. This both portrays his childlike naivety and curiosity. However, he is also as grounded and experienced in enduring life's trials as any adult might be. After all, he keeps it no secret that he is the guardian and the one responsible for his younger siblings.
Needless to say, Colton is very parental in a lot of ways after having raised two kittens on his own. Sometimes he tends to forget that his life is in his own hands and happily will hand it out to anyone else that asks. His way of supporting others is in a very passive, gentle approach. Colt believes wholeheartedly that those that want to get out of their problems will find a way themselves. All he can do is try to be there for them on the sidelines. He'll never push anyone too hard to do anything they don't want to do, which can sometimes make him come off as a spineless, unassertive man, but he'll stand firmly beside anyone willing to accept his help.
Colton's philosophy on life is ever changing. He retains a sense of spirituality about the world around him. He's not sure about the existence of God or if nature is simply the law of the land, but he does stop to think about it a lot. One thing is for certain to him, however: one must write their own names down in the book of life. No deity or person of power can dictate what his opinions are even if they change on a day to day basis. His sense of self is strong despite his twisted and obscured childhood.
He's a feline of few words when it comes to his passions and talents. Modest is often the one of the first things you'll think of when you talk to him. He talks about things he works on in a very objective point of view, but he's often fishing for complements by doing so. In that way, he feels as though he's somewhat shallow, seeking approval in such a roundabout way. That said, he's surprisingly alright with criticism as long as it's constructive. Even then, he's not one to be discouraged by harsh words. He'll pick himself up and move on after thinking it over.
Brief history: Colton was born into a unique family situation which he tries not to speak about. You see, rather than being born into a conventional family with a mom, a dad, and two and a half children, he was born into a family that belonged to a cult: The Order. Integral to the teachings of The Order was the belief that the Earth would face a worldwide catastrophe. In anticipation of this apocalyptic event, members believed it was necessary to enter a higher spiritual plane. Before the "catastrophe" was supposed to take place, however, two more children were born into the cult, Colton's younger brother and sister, Levi and Astrid. Soon enough, a member of The Order, Tony, had his infant son at three months of age, killed. The baby had been torn limb from limb. It is believed that Mambro, the leader of the cult, ordered that murder because he identified the baby as a catalyst to the coming apocalypse.
Colton was around four at the time this happened, and it woke him up to the reality of the situation. He, his parents, and his younger siblings were in real danger. Colt begged his parents to leave The Order, but they refused adamantly. After that, he took it upon himself to steal his younger siblings and become their guardian. It was a close call too. Only a few days later, mass suicides began to take place inside The Order. Colton, with the help of a sole friend, took Levi and Astrid as far away as he could from the situation. After hearing about the suicides from rumors, he could only assume the worst had happened to his parents.
Colton raised his siblings on his own, teaching them how to hunt and survive to make sure they lead the lives they were meant to. Levi, who was quite a bit younger than him, looked at Colt with the adoration that only a little brother could have. Astrid, however, who was a closer in age with Colton, was not happy about the change of events. She had already been so involved in the cult that she had been furious at her older brother for taking her away from her parents and The Order. That was the beginning of their tarnished relationship. Over the years, the loathing between Colton and Astrid only grew, up to the point where when she took, Colton wasn't even informed. Hurt, but not broken, he moved on with his life. Once he had been confident that his two younger siblings could take care of themselves, he ventured off on his own.
Life was difficult for him. He wasn't a very socially adept young adult nor did he know much about the world around him. He was naive, but curious and ready to tackle anything. Sure, the going was tough, but he managed to get through all of life obstacles while learning how to cope with the culture of normal society. It was around the time he was six that he packed up from his small home in the wilderness and moved out to Hexasol. Even after years of being exposed to the real world, moving to the the war ridden city was perhaps one of the most stressful things he'd ever done. The animals, places, and things he could do were endless. So much different from the world he'd grown up in.
One fateful night he came upon the Iris Pride. It was there that he found out that his little siblings had somehow, by some twist of fate, come upon Hexasol themselves. He couldn't leave them there alone, of course, so he joined Iris to once again watch over them. Over the next year or so, he worked tirelessly at perfecting his skills as a hunter and fighter on behalf of Iris. He didn't hate dogs, but he was certainly no fan of them especially after seeing how brutal they were in battle to his younger siblings. He became of jack of all trades: a hunter, a fighter, a spy. He knew the basics of every role withi the pride. It was when there was a shift of power did he realize that this was his opportune moment to make everything safe for his family: both his siblings and the other felines he'd grown close to in the pride. He'd end the war with a mighty swing of his paws if he had to.
Why should your character be leader: Because Colton is a sexy King Cheetah. Okay but in all seriousness, Iris needs a new kind of leader. Someone parental and caring seemed to be a good fit. He wouldn't be the best sort of cat to take up the position, but he'd definitely be a new twist to what we've seen so far. Future plans for Iris: Colton's primary goal is to keep the members of Iris safe and happy. He's not a war monger. He won't want to go to war with Tempest. He'd rather appease them in other ways unless a fight was inevitable. I see him maybe striking a deal with Novus and/or other gangs in the city to help chase off Tempest for some kind of compensation. Food, shelter, etc. Colt would definitely also establish a higher regard for the pride's smaller members. He won't tolerate the bullying or mistreatment of the small/medium felines by the bigger ones.
